“A Taste of Back Home: The Ultimate Afghan Dining Experience. Stepping through the doors feels less like entering a restaurant and more like crossing the threshold of a beloved family home in Kabul. The air is thick with the intoxicating, deeply nostalgic aroma of charcoal-grilled seekh kebabs, saffron-infused Kabuli Pulao, and piping-hot naan being slapped straight against the walls of a blazing clay tandoor. What makes this space truly unique is how it honors the past without feeling stuck in it. *The Welcome: You are greeted not just by a host, but by the genuine warmth of mehmandoostee (Afghan hospitality), where every guest is treated like royalty and a long-lost cousin all at once. *The Environment: Rich, hand-woven carpets and plush (toshak) floor cushions share the room with contemporary seating, creating a cozy sanctuary under the soft glow of copper lanterns. *The Spirit: As the gentle, acoustic strains of a rubab hum in the background, a steaming glass of cardamom-scented green tea is placed in your hand before you even ask. It is a beautifully curated haven where the flavors are fiercely authentic, the smiles are entirely effortless, and the bittersweet ache of homesickness instantly melts away into pure, delicious comfort.”
“Best restaurant service one could ever find :) food was amazing and we were overfilled with joy! They accommodated my new fiancé and I very well with the negative wind chill weather to make sure we were warm and comfortable. They did run out of their most popular dish, but we went with other options that were just as great! This basically felt like a 5-course setting. The best part is that they treated us with dessert on the house as a celebration and approved our request for a private dinner because of the recent engagement. One thing we were sad about was the poor bird they have that was fluffed up and sleeping in the cold. I hope they take much better care of it because as a 4-bird owner myself, negative degree weather and smoke from the food and kitchen pans burning is not okay for the poor thing :(”
“We came on a weekday in December and virtually had the place to ourselves. Which is a shame, because this was one of the most sumptuous meals we've had in a long time, in an absolutely magical atmosphere, lit up and decked for the holidays. The lamb kebab was some of the most flavorful and tender lamb I've ever had. And the service was immaculate: our server (a taller woman with blonde hair whose name I have inexcusably forgotten) was an absolute pro. She answered all our questions about the menu, effortlessly directed the staff when serving our dishes, and overall made this a magical experience. Location is convenient and slightly outside the tourist hubbub, between the train station and the Tropicana. We will absolutely be going here again, perhaps on a day when the prix-fixe is served, and will be recommending it to everyone we know that's coming to town. Setaara is an absolute gem in AC.”
“What a cute place!! From the minute you walk into the saloon style doors, you know you are in for something different! We did the tasting menu, which is 4 courses at a set price. You definitely get your moneys worth and the food is fabulous!!! Highly recommend!!”
“We recently had dinner here, last Friday. The place is neat and the service was good. It was me, my wife and 2 children. When we sat to order, we were told it was mandatory to order from the tasting menu. We were required to order soup/salad, an appetizer, dinner and dessert. We didn't eat the soup/salad, barely touched the appetizer, ate about half the food we ordered and took a bite from the dessert. We spent over $400 and sent most everything back because we didn't want it. We won't be back. We have been to other place that have a tasing menu as an option but you're still able to order from the menu. We did not want the other items, we only wanted the entrees. The food was ok, my kids didn't eat much at all and it was a bit too expensive for what we intended. For that much money there are other better places to go.”
