“Absolutely blown away by every aspect of this restaurant. The food, the design, the views, the service. Worth every penny. We chose to have the 3 and 5 course meal. Every dish felt fresh, unique and tasty. The service was attentive but not overly so. Some places trying to be “fine dining” are constantly pestering you. We felt very attended to but also had plenty of space to enjoy our meal and the views. The entertainment was a nice surprise to go along with the unbelievable sunset. An amazing experience from arrival to departure. Will absolutely come back and recommend to anyone visiting Cabo. After finishing our meal and desert we ordered the truffle Alfredo AGAIN. It was that good!”
“After coming to Cabo for 13 years, my husband and I finally booked a reservation at Sunset Monalisa, and hands down it was the best meal and dining experience we've ever had in Cabo. We booked a premium table before sunset, which was $25usd per person and included a glass of prosecco per person that was served after the meal. When we arrived, we were taken to our table, which had a beautiful view from every angle and we were lucky enough that there was a beautiful sunset that night. Our waiter was more than willing to take as many pictures as we wanted with our own devices. After the hype of the sunset, we settled in with a bottle of wine from the extensive wine list and enjoyed the 3-course prefix meal. Each course was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. I had the scallops, braised short rib, and lavender cheesecake for dessert. My husband chose the tartar filet, lamb shank, and ruby of Monalisa. We shared, of course, and had no regrets on any of the selections. Definitely recommend!”
“Wow. This place, it's food, and it's staff were exceptional. We enjoyed a very memorable dining experience here. The location and views were perfect. We reserved a "Premium Table" and it was well worth it for the view of the setting sun, and watching the "Lights of Cabo" to flicker on. We did the 3 course tasting menu and all of it was delicious - from the Heirloom Tomato Salad and the Seared Scallops with serrano mayo to the Truffle Fettuccine and the Short Rib with red pepper polenta. And desert was equally special - we had the Ruby of Monalisa and the Lavender Cheese Cake - both excellent balance of flavors. Add to all that the professional and attentive service and amazing views, and it all made for an outstanding dining experience, well worth the, albeit high, price.”
“We visited Sunset Monalisa to celebrate our anniversary, and the experience was on an entirely different level compared to other high-end restaurants we’ve been to in Cabo, including places like Taboo in the past. From start to finish, this felt like true fine dining done right. We reserved the premium edge seating and paid extra for it—absolutely worth every dollar. The uninterrupted ocean views at sunset were breathtaking, and the live music added a beautiful, romantic touch without ever feeling overwhelming. The food was outstanding. We ordered the porcini oysters, kampachi carpaccio, 20-layer lasagna, and lobster tortellini. For dessert, we had the Ruby of Mona Lisa and the smoked chocolate and hazelnut—every dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. My wife also opted for the premium wine pairing, which elevated her experience even further—each pairing was perfectly matched and added another layer of enjoyment to the meal. We were also offered an off-menu course they’re working on: raw lobster with caviar and mushroom truffle. It was a unique dish and a fun experience to try something not yet on the menu. The views alone are reason enough to come here, but the service, attention to detail, and overall atmosphere truly set Sunset Monalisa apart. Yes, it’s a premium price-point restaurant, but we left with zero regrets. If you’re celebrating a special occasion or want a truly memorable dining experience in Cabo, this place is a must.”
“My wife and I came here for our anniversary. We saw that the views looked amazing on reviews and videos we watched so we said let's give it a shot. The place is great but I would say be prepared to be here for a while. Our experience was a good one for sure with just a few things that made me go less than 5 stars. I will start with the good things. The views are the best thing about this place and the atmosphere they created. I would recommend you shell out the extra cash to be seated at the premium tables but not just for the views but they have live music and when they play it is on a rooftop area and it adds to the atmosphere. They also have a singer there that is quite talented and it adds a lot to the environment. The food was tasty and was plated very well. The items are gorgeous in presentation. The servers are very polite and friendly. It is a complete experience and they make romance easy for those who are terrible at being romantic (this includes me). Here are the negatives. The menu is limiting. They have a 3 , 5 and 7 course meal. You cannot go a la carte on a 5 or 7. You have some amazing main dishes on the three that you cannot get on the 5 or 7. It forced my wife to get a three instead of a 5 or 7 course meal and I got the 5 since I was fortunate that what I wanted was on the 5. They should just allow you to pay for the 5 and 7 and customize. The servers were very nice but they take forever to help you. The table in front of us was very upset that they took forever. We didn't care much that they were slow since we were having great conversations and taking in the sunset. That is basically all the negatives but as you can see they are few and can be overlooked. They were very nice to give us a few extras due to our anniversary. They gave us a treasure chest of treats and also a cupcake that was very good. Overall a great experience. Pro tip: We had heard to check the time of sunset on the forecast and book a table 45 minutes prior. I did mention plan on being there for a while so book your table for 60 to 75 minutes prior to sunset. This way you have your food and drinks while being able to enjoy the sunset and not reading a menu or figuring out what to eat as the sunset is happening.”
