“Food 10/10 Everything was delicious and it was enough for two people to share. Service 10/10 Sam our server was very informative and very helpful with the overview of the menu. Everything he recommended was delicious! I just wanted to thank him for giving us a great experience at Kemuri Tatsu-ya Will for sure be coming back again to try the rest of the menu!”
“One of our regular spots when we visit Austin. We’re usually not big fans of any fusion concept restaurants but Kemuri’s Texas-Izakaya works very well. We love the fish-collar, the sashimi specials and anything grilled on a stick (e.g., short-ribs, scallops or yakitori). Everything is executed perfectly. The sake and cocktail selections are top shelf and complimentary as in a traditional izakaya. The service is always outstanding and makes for a fantastic visit every time. We’ve never gone wrong and we highly recommend. Great location to start the night and nearby for other activities after.”
“Finally got the opportunity to visit Kemuri Tatsu-Ya with my wife. Japan is our favorite country and one of the best parts is the food. Kemuri Tatsu-Ya has done a great job in mixing Japanese and Texas food to create an unique experience. Everything that we ordered was exceptional, but I want to highlight the following 4 dishes. The Kara-Age chicken, Taiyaki Cornbread, the brisket, and the banana pudding. The Kara-Age was some of the best that we have ever tried. The Taiyaki had a delicious sweet corn taste, the brisket was simply amazing, and the banana pudding was one of the best desserts I've tried. Not only was the food good, but the service was also exceptional. Our server was very attentive and ensured that we were taken care of. The only thing that I will complain is the parking. We went on a Saturday evening, which is one of their busiest time and the parking was full. The parking is also tight, if you drive a truck like I do, you might have some issues. However, there is street parking nearby that had plenty of spots available. This doesn't take away from the experience, but something that you should be aware of. This restaurant was an amazing experience and one that we hope to have again the next time that we visit Austin. You will not be disappointed.”
“We had a reservation but still had to wait a while. Once seated, service was good. Our server made recommendations and answered questions. Sadly, they were out of quite a few dishes so we had to settle. The collar of the day was hands down the best dish we had. Melted in your mouth. Some of the other dishes were just okay.”
“The food and experience was really fun here!! It is a little different than I am used to because they bring your food one at a time. Im used to the traditional being all the food at once but it was fun doing it that way and trying new things. We did the raw octopus, the eel, the brisket, hot pockets, and the pork. It was all really great but can be a little pricey.”
