Healthy diet can be achieved through combining western and traditional Chinese cuisine by using local organic farming. The concept was derived from Chef Ling’s upbringing in China as well as her extensive international travels and cooking experiences. Chef Ling came from Fuzhou City, the southeast of China. Influenced by her grandmother and her home cooking culture, she developed a consuming passion for the art of Chinese cuisine. After becoming a mother, she has gradually focused on healthier cooking and the nutrition of foods. She is very passionate about traditional Chinese culture, especially Chinese opera. She has been promoting the combination of the Oriental and Occidental cuisine, in order to join the culinary art and healthy living together. The complete concept of the restaurant comes from the inspiration that Chef Ling received in Beijing.
“When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly, enthusiastic young man. He welcomed us to the restaurant and thanked us for choosing Ling Wu for our special occasion (birthday). He also said we would receive a complimentary dessert. It was a nice introduction to the restaurant. We ordered soup dumplings, akaushi pot stickers, fried chicken dumplings and Kung Pao chicken with cashews. All of the food was delicious and our server was friendly and efficient. When she brought the complementary dessert, it was the cutest pig shaped strawberry mousse and was delicious and playful. Even the diners at the next table wanted to take a picture of it. Everything about the meal was great.”
“We had a fantastic night here! Recommend getting a reservation- it seemed pretty busy when we went on a Saturday night. The noodles here are some of the best I’ve had-must try! Soup dumplings were so good too. Leave room for dessert! They have chocolate dumplings which I want to try next time but we stuck with the sorbet for the presentation. Definitely will be going back.”
“I had a very pleasant experience at this Chinese restaurant. The atmosphere is welcoming and nicely decorated. While it may feel a bit small at first, the interior is spacious, comfortable, and great for conversation. The service was excellent from start to finish. Everyone from the host to the bartender and servers, was friendly and attentive. We started with the Basil Chicken Dumplings, which were highly recommended and did not disappoint. They were crispy, full of flavor, and paired perfectly with the sauce. We also ordered the Veggie Fried Rice, which had great flavor. A small suggestion would be cutting the vegetables a bit smaller for easier eating and presentation, but overall it was very good. We finished with the Kung Pao Chicken with Cashew Nuts, which was delicious and well balanced. Highly recommend, and I’ll definitely be back to try more dishes. Muy recomendado, excelente servicio y comida deliciosa.”
“Food was tasty overall. Lived the pea shoots, oxtails, soup dumplings and fried rice. The shrimp and tofu dish was not what was expected: shrimp balls versus actual shrimp. The Szechuan was not very detectable. Our server was nice but seemed new and unfamiliar with the menu (hence ordering shrimp balls). The food runner that brought out the soup dumplings took the lid- this caused the dumplings to get cold and stick to the paper; she also spilled the cocktail and did not wipe it or bring another. Considering prices, our service was not quite what was anticipated. The decor was quaint. The north location definitely has a more of a colorful vibe. We also stated that we were celebrating a birthday for our pregnant coworker and nothing was mentioned regarding our special occasion.”
“Visited Ling Wu on a Saturday night with two friends. We had a reservation through Resy, which definitely helped since the place was busy. We ordered crispy chicken dumplings, chicken basil dumplings, Peking duck, and scallion pancakes. The food was decent overall, but not perfect. In my opinion, a few dishes felt a bit oily. The Peking duck was good, but it didn’t quite justify the price for me. For drinks, we had sparkling wine and Diet Coke, which were fine. The ambience was the highlight of the evening — beautifully done, upscale, and perfect for a dinner outing. The service was decent and attentive enough without any major issues. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, mainly because of the ambience and setting. With a bit more refinement in flavors and balance in the dishes, the food could definitely match the vibe of the place better. A good spot to try once, especially for the atmosphere.”
