THEKOI Bellevue is a Sushi restaurant in the Downtown Bellevue neighborhood of Bellevue.
“The sashimi at THE KOI was super fresh — you can really tell they put care into the quality! The Chirashi comes with a great variety of sashimi and a generous portion. Our favorite was definitely the Ultimate Dragon Roll! The rice layer was surprisingly thin, which made it much more enjoyable, and the Alaska snow crab filling was super generous! However, the server was too busy to check on us… couldn’t find someone to just add some water.”
“Great place to get sushi in Bellevue, only waited a couple minutes on a Saturday evening. Service was OK, they have a large menu, portion size was small, their scallops and the volcano lobster roll are my favorite. The quality is much better at other places like japonesa, Momiji, etc.”
“We usually go to THEKOI Sushi & Sake for lunch when we are craving sushi in downtown Bellevue. The location is convenient, and it is less crowded than I expected for a sushi place in this area. For a party of two, we have always been seated right away with no wait. The street parking in front is free, but those spots are usually taken. There is also a free parking lot right across the street, so parking is still manageable. We usually order the omakase combo because it lets us try different types of sushi, then add a few a la carte items if they are not included. The fish quality is pretty decent compared to other sushi places I have tried, and they also have many roll options. I would not say there is one dish that really stands out. Most of the menu feels like something you can find at other sushi restaurants, but the quality is still good. The main downside is that the food can take quite a while after ordering. The price is also not cheap, but it is not as expensive as higher-end sushi places either. Overall, I would still come back if I am craving sushi in downtown Bellevue. I would not come here expecting something very unique, but it works well when I just want decent sushi in a convenient location.”
“Neat! Went here for Seattle Restaurant Week. Overall, the prices for the regular menu look reasonable, and there’s a wide variety to choose from. The tempura is crispy and still warm, the taiyaki is chewy, and the bento I got was great! The Lobster Volcano (not pictured) is a must, pity I didn’t get an epic picture of the dish that is fire (literally and metaphorically). Er, only question is the beef in my bento… tastes suspiciously like the brand of Costco seasoning XDXD… But, the dessert is great! First time having matcha tiramisu, ‘twas amazing. The service is super nice and overall atmosphere pretty chill (though if you come here right at noon and sit facing the window you may get an eyeful of sunlight). A suggestion is to get a reservation if you’re coming during the busy hours; though if you’re coming during less busy times, you’re alright. Overall, don’t miss this spot that’s easily overlooked as you’re walking by, it’s worth a try!”
“Stopped by The Koi in Bellevue during restaurant week, and it turned out to be a pretty good experience with a few things worth calling out. The biggest headache was the parking situation. There was no clear instruction anywhere about whether free parking was available, and if it existed, it wasn’t obvious at all. Maybe I missed something, but that’s exactly why it stood out. There was nothing guided for first-time visitors. Once I got inside, the experience picked up quickly. The restaurant week special was an incredible value, easily one of the best deals I’ve seen in the Bellevue area. Portions were solid, the flavors were clean, and everything came out looking great. The atmosphere itself was modern, calm, and comfortable for both casual and slightly nicer dinners. Service was friendly but slow, especially with check-ins and small requests that took longer than expected. It didn’t ruin the visit, but it definitely added a bit of waiting throughout the meal. The food pacing stayed smooth, and everything arrived fresh. Overall, I left satisfied and impressed by the value, even though the service and parking clarity could use some tightening. Efficient: No First-Time Friendliness: No Would I Return: Yes JY review”
