“This was one of the best value omakase experiences I’ve ever had. The sushi was incredibly fresh, and every piece of fish was absolutely delicious. I also loved that you can order extra sushi or sashimi of your favorite selections. The owner’s sake recommendations were excellent!! Highly recommend!”
“I had a great meal at Hamono Sushi. I ordered the omakase, which starts with 12 pieces of nigiri selected by the chef. After the tasting portion, you can continue ordering from the menu and it’s essentially all you can eat, which was a nice surprise. The fish was very fresh and everything I tried was delicious. Each piece was well prepared and the quality really stood out. They also serve fresh ground wasabi root, which was a nice touch and added a lot to the experience. If you want to add a sake pairing, that’s available as an add-on for either $20 or $40 depending on the quality of sake you choose. Overall a really enjoyable sushi experience and a place I’d definitely recommend.”
“We were having a blast at Hamono sushi. The quality of food was unbeatable, the hospitality was amazing. We had the chance to chat with the owner Jimmy, he was very friendly and knowledgeable about what he’s doing. Strongly recommend this cozy place for anyone who craves a high quality fish and authentic sushi meals. The price for AYCE omakase includes sake tasting is definitely worth every penny!!!”
“Hamono Sushi offers a great value for the price, especially with the unique combination of omakase and all-you-can-eat. Some highlights for our group were the A5 wagyu, toro, and scallops. The uni toro tartare was good, although the toro-to-chip ratio could have been better. The spicy edamame was salty but addicting. Yellowtail snapper was tasty, but the cut and presentation could be improved. That said, the salmon was just okay, which was disappointing since our group loves salmon. The ikura was a bit too boozy for my liking. We were also bummed that the seared ika was on the menu but not included in our omakase, and the buri-hara was unavailable even though it’s listed on the all-you-can-eat menu. Dessert-wise, the green tea cheesecake was the best option. The mochi ice cream tasted like standard grocery-store mochi, and the Japanese sweet potato ice cream was just okay. Service was friendly, especially from our server Natana, but the restaurant was clearly understaffed with only one waitress and one trainee handling the entire floor. Expect longer wait times for water, refills, and requests. They could definitely use at least two more front-of-house staff members. Overall, it’s a solid experience for the price, with some great dishes, but there’s room for improvement in consistency and staffing.”
“I think this was a good one time experience. It is AYCE so perhaps the $100 pp is justified. The omakase was alright. It came with a sake pairing and they were quite generous. The staff was super efficient and very tentative. Everything came out pretty quickly. I enjoyed the ratio of rice to fish. Also wish they had asked whether we were okay with sitting at the high tops.”
