“My fiancée discovered Urban Cowboy Lodge as we were looking for a relaxing couples getaway. Needless to say the property and location were truly breathtaking! When you first check in you are greeted with drinks at the bar which started the trip off right. We stayed in the Walden Sunrise suite which had a gorgeous view of the grounds and the beautiful cedar hot tub which we enjoyed every moment of. There are so many things to enjoy on the property such as a sauna, treenets, pool table, games, fire pits everywhere, natural river you can swim, etc. Also Ralphs pizza was a fun place to hangout whether you wanted pizza and drinks or to play retro arcade games and bowling. There is also a swimming pool at Ralphs that we didnt know about which was a nice surprise! On top of it all the staff were excellent and very friendly and easy going. The area itself also has many food options and activities all with beautiful mountain views which adds to the experience. We were very sad to leave as the whole trip was very romantic, relaxing, and memorable. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend if you are looking for a getaway from the stress of work and life!”
“Boy am I glad I found this place! Some friends and I were going to a concert in Woodstock and needed a place to stay, and among the lowest priced hotels in the area I found this absolute gem. We arrived and were convinced we were in the wrong place because it was an absolutely stunning rustic resort full of amenities- but we were so happy when we found out it was indeed the right place! Service was second to none, with the lovely desk agents giving us free drinks on check in and handing out some maps to help us find the room. We all appreciate the dedication to theming the maps and pamphlets with rustic details- a really cool touch! We stayed in a room in their Slide Mountain Haus. The room was gorgeous and unique with a porch seating area and private entrance door from outside. The bedding was incredibly high quality wool and natural fibers, and the provided robes from the same brand were superb. We were all googling how much they were to buy our own! The only thing I wish I knew before coming was BE SURE TO BRING A CAR THAT IS HIGH OFF THE GROUND. It is a beautifully wild location, but that also comes with some quite literal pitfalls. The driveway had some big holes I had to be real careful with the sedan to not scrape the bottom. I will absolutely be visiting again and telling anyone who is going to the area about this awesome place! Or maybe I should keep it a secret so I can always get a good room.... Definitely check this place out- you will not regret it!”
“Vibe Cowboy! Went here recently with my Calamity Jane not knowing much more than the name. Arrived to find an atmospheric rustic lodge on 68 acres in the Catskills with an awesome room in the Walden cabin next door. Welcome drink in hand we immediately relaxed. Weather was iffy but the staff was simply THE BEST and all very personable and helpful. We had our pup with us too who was welcomed warmly by everyone which meant ALOT to us. Food was excellent (Breakfast Sandwich 10/10, Burger 10/10, Steak Frites, Wine 10/10). We had a soaking tub off of our room, a few spins in the Estonian sauna and great hang time at the fireplace with folks in Lodge' Great Room. We are definitely planning to return and looking forward to hiking the property next time weather permitting. Cheers to Kavita, Tyler, Breena, Diamond, Desiree et al who were the perfect hosts during our stay.”
“Truly stunning decor and a very fun atmosphere! We really enjoyed all of the bars, the game room, the sauna and even bowling! There is so much to do on property. All employees were so nice and welcoming. The only thing I am really disappointed about is my room layout. I was under the impression that my tub and the deck were private. Unfortunately my hot tub was right infront of the window of the room next to us and they always had their window open, we didn’t feel comfortable enough to go in it right in front of their window. This should be better advertised because it’s listed as private and this was really disappointing to us. But thank you for a great stay otherwise.”
“More like a 3.5. Starting with the positives. Beautiful property and grounds. Amazing staff were super kind and service was great. The food in the restaurant was quite good. The lodge is super cozy and a cool spot to hang out The beds and pillows were 5 star. Amazingly comfortable. The cons Our room was extremely overpriced. 1st floor rooms in the Walden cabin are very small and so dimly lit that is difficult to function. The bathroom is also tiny and there is nowhere to put your things. The walls are paper thin so you will hear everything. People moving, talking, etc. not peaceful at all. We were close to the main door which is loud and creaky. Felt and heard it every time it was opened. Lots of ambient noise. Our friends did stay on the chalet which was a great value for the size and recommended. Dogs….. we love them but since the walls are paper thin and people generally are bad pet owners you hear a lot of them barking etc. while this is not a hotel problem it was a negative being woken up by pups on our short vacation. There is no food between 11am-4pm. Bring snacks. There is no substantial food to be had without leaving the property and taking a decent drive. The hotel has room service but it starts at 5pm. They have a cantina but it’s just a few snacks and a wrap or 2 in a mini fridge. Being able to have lunch on premises would have been a huge plus. Just regular black coffee and a few teas. No espresso, cappuccino, etc options. No decaf.”
