“My wife and I were looking to try and a new Italian spot and we’re so glad we found A Tavola. Before we even got to dessert we were texting our friends saying next dinner night out we NEED to bring them here. What stands out about A Tavola is they don’t rely on butter, oil and cream like so many Italian restaurants. Their fresh ingredients and calculated recipes bring the most out of every bite. If you want a chicken parm, this isn’t the spot BUT if you want a one-of-one eating experience then this is the place. Music was fantastic too. Yes you have your server but every member of the staff interacts with you in a non-overwhelming way. The chef and owner, Joe. The hostess. The server. The assistant chef, David. The other servers. Everyone is so friendly and makes sure you’re enjoying your time. It’s cozy and intimate and welcoming and unique. You’d think my wife and I were going there for years and knew everyone so well. That’s how accommodating they were. Everything you want when dining locally! I got the charred octopus for my app and I have very high expectations for octopus. I devoured the plate before I could take a breath. No words to my wife. Just nodded my head in absolute ecstasy between each bite. Then the bucatini for my entree. Pasta is made in-house and it really stands out. Mushrooms marry the burrata cheese perfectly. It left me in a pickle. Do I eat it all because it’s so delicious or do I save some for leftovers. I went with the latter. My wife got the beets salad and gnocchi shrimp scampi. Again when trying her gnocchi you can tell it’s made fresh because your teeth cut through it like a knife through butter. Normally gnocchi at other spots puts up a fight. Not saying that’s bad but a true gnocchi melts in your mouth. That’s what you get at A Tavola. And finally, the dessert. On their menu is a dozen cookies. Yes a dozen. You can’t just take one. So you’re saying I have my dinner cooked by someone else AND they bake me cookies for the week? I’m in. And you guessed it, freshly made in-house. My wife and I had two each along with tiramisu. Imagine after all this you get home with 8 cookies?! Felt like a kid all over again. 12 out of 5 for A Tavola. Sit at the chef’s window if you can. Makes for a great experience to speak with everyone”
“First time visitor though I have lived in town for years. We sat at the chefs counter where you can see the open kitchen. It makes for a great date night because you get dinner and a show so to speak. We had the apple burrata with prosciutto 10/10. The prosciutto is not dry and salty like so many other places. Our waitress gifted us an arancini which was simply incredible in a bed of pesto. We also had a bucatini and a chicken dish. Such a fun and amazing place. If you’re looking for fast the Cheesecake factory is a better choice for you. There is one chef pumping out his magic. Great date night place.”
“Food was awesome. We liked the staff but felt like after our entrees we were forgotten about. We as a group laughed and talked and passed the time but we sat at 600 and didnt get out of the restaurant till after 830. The flow was all off. It wasn't a particularly busy night. We will return”
“A nice Italian restaurant. Enjoyed my meal quite a lot. The service is very good. The cocktails are excellent. The only thing that was out of place for such a great atmosphere and exceptional food was the music. They played all the hit songs from a Gen X prom. It was weird to have such a fine dining experience and hear 80's pop songs.”
“Food The appetiser was certainly the highlight of my dinner. I was impressed with the smashed white bean (not sure if that’s how they call it). I couldn’t tell what it was because even though it had a mild flavour, it was good. For entree, I ordered risotto, and I didn’t like it very much. The taste was fine, but it was too bland and plain to me, which made me feel like I was just eating some saucy rice. Everything else It is a cozy family style restaurant and the service was great. Everything”
