Located in the old Charles Street Jail, transformed into the Luxurious Liberty Hotel, Alibi Bar & Lounge is located on the first floor and is a Beacon Hill hot spot. Original bluestone floors, brick cell walls, plush couches, and dim lighting set the scene for mingling amongst cheeky images of celebrities and their “alibis.” In the summer months, Alibi offers a rare off-street outdoor patio turned into a garden getaway, perfect for enjoying seasonally inspired cocktails, and Italian-inspired cuisine by legendary chef Lydia Shire and our family at Scampo.

“Stopped in here around 10PM on a Sunday night . I’m familiar with the Liberty Hotel. For those who are not, this is the cocktail lounge on the first floor to the right of the entrance. Nicole was amazing on the bar. I always get excellent service here, but she was truly outstanding! Espresso Martini made perfectly with her secret ingredient. I’ll share it here: never mind, just GO! Efficient all around and Nic is even an OG Bruins fan! What more could you want? Historic atmosphere, excellent drinks and conversation !”

“Nicole was my bartender. I have always been adamant about perfect not existing. I might have to retract my statement. Nicole was outstanding!! The way she was able to shake not 2 but 3 cocktails at once made me thing she belonged in a circus rather than a bar lol!! Beyond that she was able to provide me with fitness tips to support my long term goals. Not to over share with you all but I once was a barback and these barbacks over at alibi deserve a raise!! They were busting their a$$ for sure. The manager David was extremely welcoming as well. Could not say good enough things about this place. Do they do weddings??? Asking for a friend. RUN do not walk to alibi everyone!”

“Loved our experience at the Alibi! We did not order any food, just drinks. AJ, the bartender, was great! His drinks were DELICIOUS! We had drinks from his holiday menu, that he created, so good and fun! We loved the atmosphere of the place. So glad we went. It was recommended to us from one of the nurses at Mass General. AJ was friendly and kind and made our experience memorable!”
