“Absolutely amazing experience at Pepe and Lela’s for Mother’s Day! We originally came in not realizing there was a special Mother’s Day menu and that the regular menu wasn’t being offered. Since we were really looking forward to their tacos (which we’ve heard they’re especially known for), we were honestly considering leaving. Thankfully, a very kind gentleman — who I’m assuming may have been the owner or a close friend of the restaurant — came over and personally spoke with us. He went above and beyond by talking to the chefs and arranging a special accommodation so we could still order from the regular menu despite the holiday restrictions. That level of customer service alone was incredible and made us feel genuinely valued as customers. The food was outstanding. The fish tacos were easily the highlight for me — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. The guacamole tasted super fresh, and the mango salad was such a refreshing burst of flavor, especially with the warmer weather coming in. To top everything off, they even gave us a delicious Mexican pastry on the house at the end of the meal, which was such a thoughtful touch. The atmosphere was also amazing. The restaurant had such a warm, family-oriented vibe for Mother’s Day, and our waitress was incredibly kind and attentive. She never rushed us, gave us time with the menu, checked in often, and made sure we were comfortable throughout the entire experience. Overall, this was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Amazing food, amazing people, and amazing service. I would 100% come back and highly recommend Pepe and Lela’s to anyone looking for great Mexican food and a welcoming atmosphere!”

“We called on Valentine’s Day and they were completely booked, but luckily they managed to squeeze us in. After being there, it was easy to see why they were booked solid from 4:30 onward. The margaritas were amazing, the fish tacos were incredibly fresh, and our server was so kind—full of great recommendations and super accommodating. We’ll definitely be back and bringing friends next time.”

“Excellent food and experience. Cozy little restaurant with friendly staff and quality food. The flavours are great and they don't hold back the spice. Chile sauces and oils are made in house and their mole is fantastic. Their margaritas are tasty and made with fresh fruits. A hidden gem for some delicious Mexican fare.”

“Everything was good, nothing was remarkable. The portion sizes are very large which is fine but after two tacos and an appetizer you're full. The tacos themselves were a bit messier than I'd like and it seems to be a known issue because they served them with a glass of napkins. Perhaps this is just what the local market wants, and if that's what you're looking for then you'll very much enjoy.”

“The food was very good. It was authentic. I had beef tacos. They are two for $27, which is exorbitant. I asked to have one beef, and one lamb taco, but they couldn’t accommodate that. They brought my $15 glass of Malbec, ice-cold. When I questioned them on it, to their credit, they brought me a glass at room-temperature. The servers did great work, but the prices indicated fine dining, not “roadhouse”. Great food, but very limited supper menu. Prices for fine-dining. Food and service? Great Roadhouse, but not at fine-dining prices. Pass…”
