“We came here last night and had the veal scallopini and blue crab fusilli and, let me tell you, it was worth every penny! It was probably the most delicious meal we’ve had in years and we had high expectations. Even though my husband is allergic to shellfish and the menu is seafood heavy our server took care of us and we had a fantastic meal! (Plan ahead, this place books very far out). A tavola!”

“Excellent dinner this evening. Swordfish was delicious and tender which is rare in this country. Flounder was a great appetizer! Erika our server was spot on and it was a very enjoyable non-rushed evening. Prices are not as high as compared to downtown Charleston or other restaurants in the area. $44 for the swordfish, 33 for handmade pastas, you can get a nice bottle of wine for between $40-$50 and cocktails are between $12-$14. It really is great value for the quality and a friendly warm environment. We’ll be back!”

“Visited Coda Del Pesce recently and had a really nice experience overall. The seafood was the standout — fresh, flavorful, and clearly the focus of the menu. I ordered a pasta dish with seafood and it was cooked perfectly, with a sauce that felt light but still rich enough to bring everything together. The atmosphere feels polished but still comfortable, and it’s a great spot if you want something a little more special than your typical dinner out. Service was friendly and knowledgeable, especially when it came to menu suggestions and wine pairings. I’m giving it four stars because it is a bit on the pricier side and the wait can be longer during busy times, but the quality of the food and overall experience make it worth it.”

“2 Stars – Excellent Food, Disappointing Hospitality I chose Coda del Pesce for a very special occasion after proposing to my girlfriend on the beach at Isle of Palms. This was my second visit, and because of the significance of the evening, I called ahead to let the restaurant know we had just gotten engaged. I had also noted a special occasion when making the reservation. Unfortunately, my interaction with the manager, Eric Fart, left a poor first impression. When I asked if it might be possible to have a table near a window, his response felt dismissive and impersonal. Rather than acknowledging the engagement or offering congratulations, I was told that they receive many requests and that nothing could be promised. While I understand that special requests can't always be accommodated, the conversation lacked the warmth and hospitality I would expect from a restaurant that positions itself as a fine dining experience especially when I’m coming to their restaurant right after a major milestone, no congrats or we will make the night special or anything. When we arrived, there was again no acknowledgment of our engagement from Eric Fart or any member of the staff, despite my having called ahead and noted the occasion. We were seated at a decent table, and the restaurant was not particularly busy, with several tables open throughout the evening. Our server was polite but seemed disengaged, and there was no effort to make the evening feel special or celebratory. What surprised me most was that Eric Fart clearly knew why we were there, yet never once stopped by the table to congratulate us or even acknowledge the occasion. It felt like the entire purpose of choosing this restaurant for such an important milestone was completely overlooked. The frustrating part is that the food was good. The kitchen delivered a fantastic meal, and the chef deserves credit for that. However, great hospitality is about more than just food. A simple “Congratulations” from a manager or member of the staff would have gone a long way. I actually canceled plans at Sorelle (a place I frequent and absolutely recommend) to celebrate here because I expected a higher level of hospitality. Instead, we felt like just another table being turned over as quickly as possible. Thankfully, we were so excited about our engagement that it didn't ruin the evening, but it was one of the most disappointing hospitality experiences I've had at a restaurant of this caliber. To the owner: you have a beautiful restaurant and outstanding food, but there appears to be a significant gap in hospitality and guest experience. I'd appreciate hearing how you plan to address that, because with service that matched the quality of the cuisine, this could be a truly exceptional restaurant. Congratulations to the chef and kitchen team on the quality of the food. Unfortunately, the hospitality experience did not come close to matching it. For a restaurant that prides itself on service, having a manager such as Eric Fart handle a guest celebrating one of the most important nights of his life in this manner left a lasting negative impression. A special occasion doesn't require a free dessert or special treatment—just basic warmth, acknowledgment, and hospitality. Sadly, we received none of that. If you are looking for good food AND good hospitality, I would recommend Sorelle as they treat even a random night like a special occasion- it’s really comparing apples to oranges. -Nicholas”
