This waterfront locale is historically known as the launching site of our country's first submarine, the H.L. Hunley. Poised at the breach between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic, you can enjoy a meal amongst the spectacular sunset views and balmy ocean breezes of the Isle of Palms. Come early and have a cocktail at the Rooftop Bar while enjoying amazing views before dining.
“The Boathouse has become.a family favorite for our family. A must each trip we make annually to IOP. The service is good. The food is wonderful (that shrimp and grits is next level) and the setting is what sets an evening dinner apart. A reservation at golden hour will restore your faith in a creator God and have you coming back for more. Just stunning. The sunset adjacent to the Ravenel Bridge in the distance is one of the most iconic backdrops one can experience in the low country. Highly recommend!”
“I absolutely love Boathouse. I chose it for the dinner before proposing to my now fiancée, and the entire experience was unforgettable. The staff gave us the royal treatment from start to finish. Melissa, our server, was outstanding, the porch seating overlooking the marsh and creeks at sunset was absolutely beautiful, and the food was phenomenal. We had the peel-and-eat shrimp, scallops, and the catch of the day — every dish was excellent. The whole staff ensured we had a great experience and took it to the next level.”
“Delicious menu with a lot of options. Want staff is friendly and had great recommendations. Great view from indoor patio! Timing of food was reasonable and not long as expected due to the full house. I will say bathrooms are extremely cramped and in a weird spot. I tried the Red Drum fish with tomato Risotto. It was yummy!! Perfect balance of flavors throughout.”
“We spent our Valentine’s Day dinner at The Boathouse at Breach Inlet, and the atmosphere was wonderful. It managed to feel both very nice and quiet while remaining warm and welcoming—perfect for a romantic evening. The service was excellent from start to finish. Our servers were attentive and made the night feel special. Regarding the food: Flavor: Everything we ordered was extremely delicious. Value: My only critique of the main course is that the portions seemed a bit small given the price point. We enjoyed ourselves enough to stay for dessert, but that was where we hit a small snag. We ordered the Red Velvet Cake, and while the cake itself was fine, it was served with a whipped cream-style icing. For a classic Red Velvet, a traditional cream cheese icing or filling is really a must to balance the flavors! Overall, a beautiful spot with great vibes and tasty food.”
“The Boathouse had a great variety of food options with stunning views. Service was impeccable. Our waiter had great recommendations. The Spicy Shrimp and grits were creamy with a little bit of kick from the sausage. Th Gouda Mac and cheese was perfectly smoked and the fried flounder was crispy.”
