“My wife and I spent our 7th anniversary here last night. It’s been 10 years since we’ve been, and it didn’t disappoint. 10 years ago and I still remember this as one of the best pieces of steak I’ve ever had, and last night was a close 2nd. The food is amazing, waitress was outstanding and offered great recommendations and phenomenal service. We live in Connecticut, but when we come to Charleston or Folly Beach, this will always be a stop on our itinerary!”
“This wasn't just a place to eat, it was a total experience. The cocktails were amazing and Clark was one of the best parts of the experience. We stayed in the hotel above the restaurant. We decided not to eat in the restaurant itself but at the bar instead. The way the food came out and was delicious from the first bite to the last sip of Port was exceptional. I never finish my steak at any restaurant but I ate every single bite at 225. Clark paired our drinks to go along with each course we ate. This isn't just a restaurant to eat in, it is a beautiful location to have a truly remarkable dining experience. Trust me, there is a difference. Thanks again to Clark and Grill 225 for the unforgettable anniversary dining experience. 10 stars!!!”
“My wife and I ate here for a date night, and we enjoyed the food. Our steaks were tender and melted in your mouth. Although the steak was tender, I didn’t think it had a lot of flavor. I saw another review stating the gentleman at the front was staring at them as they took their seat. My wife noticed he was staring at us while we were eating as well. Besides that, I thought the restaurant was in a good location and our waiter was great.”
“We celebrated our 16-year wedding anniversary at Grill 225 last night. We’ve dined here before and had an amazing experience, but unfortunately, this visit didn’t quite live up to our previous one. The restaurant itself is stunning, and the staff were all friendly and professional. The food, however, fell a bit short. My son and I both ordered the aged 8 oz filet mignon. They were cooked perfectly but surprisingly bland — we both had to add salt and pepper at the table, which was disappointing for a $60 steak. My wife ordered the tuna tower with avocado and lump crab meat, and it was outstanding. My other son had the scallops, which were good but not particularly memorable. Our appetizers, raw oysters and escargot, were both delicious and beautifully presented. Grill 225 is certainly not inexpensive, and while the atmosphere and service were great, the overall dining experience just didn’t meet the high expectations set by our last visit. We probably won’t be back in the near future.”
“The food was impeccable. The salad, fries, and everything else were absolutely delicious and the portions are great and very generous. Definitely recommend. However, the service made us feel very uncomfortable. Some staff members seemed to be giving us looks, especially the tall black man at the front desk who looked us up and down and made sure we noticed it, which felt very unprofessional. We weren’t sure if it was because we’re young or because we’re foreigners (my fiancé is Jordanian and I’m Thai). The waitress also seemed surprised when my fiancé asked if they accepted Apple Pay, which is a very common payment method nowadays. She responded by saying, “This is not just any steakhouse,” and made it seem like we were insulting the restaurant by simply asking a normal question. We were only trying to confirm a payment method. Because of the service experience and attitude, the tip reflected it. We’ve been exploring many restaurants downtown and would have loved to return, but this experience changed our minds. That said, the food itself was amazing. Truly a 10/10. That said, the food was amazing. Truly a 10/10.”
