“Angela was amazing! She communicated with us there would be a slight longer wait than usual. She also checked on our table often to make sure we were good. The food was great, definitely fresh and hot. We’ll for sure be returning the next time we’re in the area.”
“The baked oyster rockafella was delicious I noticed that those are are a popular choice. The bucket of steamed oysters also a plus. The mashed potatoes were so creamy and good. The broccoli was kind of hard, like burnt. The pan seared salmon was burnt but after taking the top off it was good. The butter that rolled around my plate made the food taste better. The server was very attentive. I sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air and blazing sunlight.”
“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pearl Seafood & Raw Bar — Charleston, SC We found this place completely by chance — just searched “oysters” on the map while driving back from a plantation — and it turned out to be an absolute pearl of Charleston! 🦪✨ They have a happy hour until 7 PM — a dozen oysters for just $20, and they were fantastic: super fresh, perfectly shucked by Matthew, who made the whole experience even better with his friendly vibe and attention to detail. The atmosphere is light, coastal, and stylish — an open bar, good music, and a beautiful wall filled with oyster-themed paintings that give the place so much character. The tap drinks were great too — fresh and perfectly chilled. A perfect spot to unwind after a day out — beautiful, delicious, and full of Southern charm. 💙 We’ll definitely be back!”
“Love Pearlz Little Oyster Bar. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and sat at the bar for oysters. Some of the best oysters I’ve had this season. The bar staff was friendly and attentive as well. We very much enjoyed our Sunday afternoon thanks to the experience at Pearlz!”
“I used to love this restaurant back when I lived in Charleston, so I was really looking forward to this visit. Unfortunately, it was an incredibly disappointing experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt off. The restaurant was surprisingly empty, which should have been our first sign. The condition of the dining room was quite alarming—the walls were filthy, and many of the picture frames were broken and grimy. The entire space had an unpleasant odor. The service was also puzzling; our food took over an hour to arrive despite the restaurant being nearly empty. Furthermore, our experience was marred by the behavior of a couple seated near us. It was an African-American couple who, upon our arrival, immediately turned their backs to us to eat toward the wall. It was an incredibly cold and unkind interaction to witness, especially while I was there with my young children. I have never encountered that level of hostility before, and it was truly disheartening to feel that kind of atmosphere in a place I used to love. As for the food, it was unfortunately inedible. My son, who loves shrimp, refused to eat his meal, and the $35 steak was so poor that I couldn't stomach it and ended up giving it to my dog. The broccoli tasted old, and the entire meal had an off-putting smell. I do want to mention that our server was absolutely lovely, and I truly appreciated their kindness. However, between the lack of cleanliness and the overall experience, it was an awful visit. It is so sad to see a place I once loved go downhill like this; honestly, we likely will not be returning. I really hope they can get back to the standards they used to have. I will delete this after the owner sees this. Just wanted them to know how their restaurant is being run.”
