The Crunkleton Charlotte is a Cocktail Bar restaurant in the Elizabeth neighborhood of Charlotte.
“Best whiskey selection in the Queen City! I have family in Charlotte and visit a lot and was delighted to find this gem, my new favorite place. Perfect for a date night, a post work happy hour, a girl's night out. It's buzzy, intimate, candle lit tables and an impressive fires ablazing open kitchen with supple leather chairs that you literally sink into-- it creates a VIBE. We weren't that hungry so we just did appetizers, the wagyu skewers and crab cakes and both were well seasoned and the perfect foil to my bourbon selections. The bartenders were great at also introducing new to me (and more affordable!) options than the ones I had picked so I was appreciative that there's something for everyone and any price point. Cannot recommend this place enough and I'm eagerly looking forward to returning!”
“Great place! It lives up to the hype. Impecable customer service. 🍷 A selection of 400+ liquors (especially whiskey) so you can probably find something you have not had. 🔥 The crunckleton hot sauce 10/10 It's spicy with an artisan herbal flavor, I resistted putting it on everything. 🍤 The shrimp and grits is delicious that sauce is otherworldly, feels tropical. 🍳 Turkish Eggs were a Mediterranean delight, a little spicy so becareful of that isn't your cup of tea. 🐕 If you like dogs, sit outside and enjoy the parade, it seems like everyone owns a dog around here. 🥞 Banana French Toast has cornflakes and you won't regret the subtle crunch experience. 🥗 The fig salad was also delish. The bathrooms are for a single person, they are very clean. They don't have a male or female sign.”
“Lived in Charlotte for 4 years and this is the best place to go for a night out. The drinks are really superb, favorites are the paper plane and painkiller. The food is also fantastic especially the burger. Don’t skip dessert, pecan pie and beignets. Most of all it’s what hospitality should be. Becca the manager had to reschedule a reservation once and since then she has always helped when I had a special occasion and the staff there is welcoming but not overbearing. Highly recommend”
“Great experience! I wondered for years what the hype was about and my first visit definitely made it clear! We sat at the bar and I think that it was probably the best part of the experience. The bartender Alex was very helpful and entertaining - he made fantastic drinks. The food was very good as well. And the atmosphere of the bar was exceptional. Cool vibe! Will definitely be back!”
“For months I wanted to try this place based on “influencers” posts and reviews, I was convinced that I had to have it. Well I got a surprise visit from family from the west coast and they wanted to treat me for my birthday. They said they’re taking me Anywhere I wanted to eat… I choose The Crunkleton. Mind you, it was a late dinner on a Friday night, fine! reservations were still made and honored. Staff was friendly and there were no problems there. The seats appeared comfy but the booth we sat it was worn in spots and scraped me thru my dress, but it was a large booth, probably comfy in its better days. Bar was vast vibes seem cool. We ordered a few whiskies and espresso martinis, which were good 8/10. The crab cakes were decent, lots of it was the breading not a lot of crab, overall a cool size kinda spicy. 6/10. However, I really wish I could turn back time. It’s all about the Tomahawk steak. It’s the one thing that caught my attention, I’ve never had it before, and super excited to get to order it. It’s way out of My budget $180 for the platter which can feed 2-4 people possibly. I ordered it medium well because my guests were sharing with me and that’s how they like it, me personally medium would’ve worked. Regardless, my Tomahawk was burnt to an ultimate crisp!! I have never seen a bone that size so black it looked like it set the fire and kept the flames hot all night!! Pure black charcoal covered the entire slab of meat. It’s cut into and showed visible signs of tenderness and slightly pink which is ideal but the entire outer steak was burnt, tasteless and utterly disappointing. The vegetable medley was even burnt/ charred and partially cook at the same time! How is that even possible? Burnt and raw?? Potatoes charred no flavor, toast black and charred. Not grill lines which are expected but burnt and charred. It was nearly closing time so getting another rushed tasteless burnt dish would’ve been pointless. Even with the chili cherry and miso butter this thing couldn’t be salvaged. Lastly we paid $18 dollars for two “prawns” that appeared to have been boiled not grilled and the size of just a basic large shrimp. Not worth it at all!!! 1/10. The manager ended up comping something but I didn’t ask because I didn’t pay for it my family did. I personally would like my family to be refunded or they make me a whole new one done the RIGHT way. My birthday dinner was ruined. The mini beignets cleared my palate of the charred after taste and they were good 7.5/10. Other than that I left hungry with a stomach ache at the same time. I took the uneaten food to-go to give to my dogs. I hated to have to write this review I had high hopes. Bottom line do not eat dinner after 8pm in Charlotte NC. I swear nothing goes right with the food scene when I choose the location. I need the owner to call me!”
