The Humbert House Bar & Restaurant

“I’ve been to Humbert House in Clarence a few times now, and I’ve noticed some wonderful improvements with each visit. The food has always been good, but the first time I went, there were limited vegetarian and gluten-free options, which made it a bit tough for my date. Since then, I’ve seen the menu evolve and expand. They’ve become much more accommodating, which I really appreciate. On one visit, they even brought out a lobster roll without the roll to meet our dietary needs. The five stars here go to our incredible server, who went above and beyond to make sure we had a great dining experience. She checked in frequently, made adjustments wherever possible, and even comped our drinks to ensure we left happy. Truly outstanding service! I’ve since gone back and tried their surf and turf special, and it was excellent and at a great price point too. One thing to note: the bar area starts off quiet but can get very busy quickly, especially when there’s live music. Parking in the back lot can be a little tight, so it’s worth checking ahead to see what’s going on before you go. Overall, Humbert House is definitely worth a visit. Great food, thoughtful menu updates and fantastic service!”

“We had our girl’s get-together dinner on a Wednesday night to try on the Italian dinner menu. We ordered Italian bread, Olives and Cheese as our shared appetizers. I ordered Caesar Salad and Veal Picatta for dinner. Everything was just so delicious! My Poison Apple cocktail was a bit too strong but still very flavorful. The restaurant is nice and cozy, casually elegant. The service was excellent and I did enjoy the live music at the bar. I truly enjoyed my experience and look forward to trying different menu items.”

“We decided to do a night out. We got there early to have a drink at the bar before we went to our table. Bar staff was very helpful and friendly. We went to our table at our reservation time. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She suggested the Korean fried chicken and the 5 Onion Soup. Both were amazing. For dinner, we chose the chicken marsala and the surf and turf. Both were also amazing. We were too full for dessert. I would recommend for a date night.”

“Food was pretty good, the burger I had was cooked a little too much but that's alright. Dessert was certainly better. Water glass was consistently topped off, waiter was around often enough. The acoustics are too good in there, the live music made it all too loud. I could barely hear my family at my table and could hear everything else that was around me. Definitely get a reservation if eating later in the day”

“We originally visited shortly after they opened and left extremely disappointed, but decided to give them another chance a few years later hoping things had improved. Unfortunately, nothing seems to have changed. The salmon was a tiny piece, overly salty, and served over bland rice mixed with peas that felt completely uninspired. The scallops were shockingly small, literally the size of pennies, overcooked, burnt, and sitting on a risotto that lacked any flavor or care. The soup tasted straight out of a can, and the dessert seemed like something purchased frozen from Restaurant Depot rather than made fresh in house. Overall, nothing about the meal felt fresh, thoughtful, or worth the price point. To make matters worse, the bathroom did not even have toilet paper or paper towels stocked, which really reflected the overall lack of attention to detail throughout the restaurant. The service also felt subpar, first time waiters trying their best lacking leveled up training. We genuinely wanted to give this place a fair second chance despite the reviews, but we left even more disappointed this time around. Completely overpriced for the quality, service, and overall experience. Definitely not worth the visit. Much better options in the Clarence area for sure!”
