Fukuro Bar & Sushi is a Japanese restaurant in the Evans neighborhood of Evans.
“We had a fantastic time at fukuro!! The service and the sushi rolls were all top notch, easily the best sushi in the CSRA. The only downside if you’re really into sushi, the wasabi was not very spicy. I would happily return here whenever I crave sushi!!”
“Took my daughter here for her birthday and was pleasantly surprised. We usually go to sole or takosushi but my daughter picked this place this year. Yes the pricing may seem a tad high but that all went away when my food was brought out. We ordered a hunger games roll, sunlit roll and some appetizer roll that I cant remember the name to. Best sushi ive had in a long time, probably best in the area if I had to be honest. The atmosphere was great as well and service was top notch. Ms meyoung was our server and she was so nice and explained everything when we had questions. This is a definite go if you're in the area. Well worth the price.”
“If you’re craving sushi that’s as memorable as it is mouth-watering, this gem in Evans should be at the top of your list. Yes, it leans toward the pricier side, but every bite makes it clear you’re getting real value for your dollar. From the moment your first roll hits the table to the final forkful of dessert, this place turns a meal into an experience worth savoring. The sushi here isn’t just expertly crafted — it’s inspired. Classic rolls sit comfortably beside creative mashups of unexpected flavors that somehow just work. Whether you’re a seasoned sushi fan or you like dipping your toes into new culinary waters, there’s something to surprise and delight your palate. And beyond the sushi rolls, the entrees and appetizers are equally thoughtful and delicious — each plate beautifully presented, bold in flavor, and balanced in texture. Drinks here aren’t an afterthought either. The beverage menu complements the food beautifully, from crisp cocktails that cut through rich flavors to refreshing non-alcoholic options that are far from boring. This spot strikes the perfect note for a date night — intimate enough for meaningful conversation, fun enough to feel like a mini celebration. While it can be kid-friendly, it really shines as a place to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, or just a night out with someone special. In Evans’ dining scene, this sushi restaurant feels like a little treasure: a dining destination worth your time, your curiosity, and yes, your money. Come with an open mind and an appetite — you won’t leave disappointed. 🍣🌟”
“Absolutely delicious food. Some of the best sushi I have ever had in my life. The sushi platter was like an omakase, and the short ribs were so tender. Fukuro was a truly wonderful experience. It is pricy, but you get what you pay for. They’re one of the few Resy restaurants in the Augusta area, so it’s a great place to go for your quarterly platinum card credits. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious sushi. Update: we’ve been a few more times now since this was last posted, and the food continues to impress. I got the Wagyu bowl, and it is truly my favorite menu item. The short rib is alright, nothing to talk about personally. The deserts are all very delicious if you like less sweet deserts like my wife, but I did not care for them as much. Still a great place to come.”
“This place should NEVER have there prices set like a high end sushi establishment. We will not return, nor recommend. Our waitress /customer service- When I asked about the entrees, she states NONE of the sides could be swapped. I wanted the steak, but wanted sweet potato purée added. She said “no, if you want sweet potatoes purée, you have to order short rib” Also on the steak I was going to originally order she said “ it only come medium “ ( I wanted med rare) This is a huge red flag at a restaurant that is making food fresh! Only premade meals are unswappable and it’s hard to adjust cooking temps of steak when it’s not fresh. I ordered the beef rib, (to get the purée) It was completely inedible!! The meat smelled like old microwaved meat!!!! The texture was TERRIBLE, it shredded and fell apart like an old apple. IT DIDN’T taste anything like beef. There was NO sweet potato purée…. Only diced chunks of potatoes! My husband’s sea bass was good he said. Not worth the price, but wasn’t terrible like my beef. Side note on our waitress….Her perfume was so strong it coated the back of my throat. She also took my napkin off of the table and set it on my leg. That’s a huge problem! If I wanted my napkin in my lap before my food came, I would have placed it there. Atmosphere, odd. The bar lighting is so bright and sterile. If you’re facing the bar and sitting on the bench side, it may feel a bit much for your eyes. Seating was entirely too close, to not have anything stopping the voices coming from the next table. We had a group of six sitting next to us and it was like we were in the middle of their conversation due to the lack of anything stopping the sound from carrying. The place wasn’t packed, but still was loud. To the food… 1 out of 5 - PUFFER ROLL- is literally a thin puffed egg roll with almost no filling. 0 out of 5 - ASIAN STYLE TENDER SHORT RIBS With sweet potato puree, Brussels sprouts, house 3.5 out of 5 - MISO BLACK SEA BASS”
