“My wife and I went to Overlands to meet another couple and we truly feel like we have stumbled onto a gem! The Happy Hour appetizers are so good (best hamburger I've had in a while) and the staff was jumping thru hoops to make sure everyone was happy. We decided to go back for Valentines Day. They had a pre-arranged menu for all the couples and it was fantastic. Everyone was having such a great time. Two thumbs up for sure and we will continue to go back.”

“My husband and I had the loveliest date night at The Overland in Germantown last week. From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. The setting is this charming, upscale Western vibe, up on the fifth floor of the TownePlace Suites. You’d never expect it from the outside, but inside, it’s all warm wood, cozy nooks, and even a little patio with a fantastic view. We started with the pimento cheese wontons, and they were divine. Crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and that house marmalade? Perfection. David said it reminded him of the soul rolls at Great Southern Cafe in Seaside, Florida-and that’s high praise from him! I had the North Mesa salad, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s one of the best I’ve had in the Memphis area. Fresh greens, grape tomatoes, creamy avocado, and those crispy wontons, all tossed in a cilantro honey vinaigrette that was just the right balance of sweet and tangy. For our main courses, I went with the halibut-cooked to absolute perfection. David had the elk chop, and he couldn’t stop raving about how tender and flavorful it was, especially paired with those creamy grits and turnip greens. We finished things off with the cheesecake, and let me tell you, it was generous enough for both of us-and every bite was heavenly. Our waitress, Sanoma, was lovely. She made us feel so welcome, and her attention to detail truly made our night feel special. The whole staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and you could tell they really cared about making sure everyone had a wonderful experience. If you’re looking for an upscale yet approachable dinner spot in Germantown, The Overland is a must. We’re already planning our next visit-and I know you’ll love it, too. Highly recommend!”

“My wife and I visited The Overland celebrating her birthday. Neither of us had been so we didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised! The restaurant has a cozy feel to it. The ambiance was really nice and it was decorated very well. Our server, Sophie, was great. She was knowledgeable of the menu and gave great suggestions. I ordered the Elk Chops. They were delicious! They were served with a bordelaise sauce and a side of grits, turnip greens, and smoke corn! This was absolutely fantastic. My wife ordered the knife and fork cheeseburger. Unfortunately this missed the mark. There was nothing knife or fork about this sandwich. I would expect better from the caliber of restaurant. My wife said it was OK but she really enjoyed the fries. Ms Sophie surprised us both by bringing my wife dessert in honor of her birthday! It was a very nice gesture. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and looked forward to returning.”

“The food was a 10/10. A bit overpriced in my opinion but no complaints on any of the dishes we ordered. Everything was fresh, seasoned well, cooked to perfection, and the portions were fair. The service was average but in a good way. Everyone was friendly and respectful but there wasn’t anything spectacular to write about. It took longer than expected to order and receive our drinks and food considering the restaurant didn’t seem too busy at the time. But again, the food was 100% worth the wait. The restaurant is inside of a hotel. Space and seating are somewhat limited. Not the place if you’re looking for something intimate. You could definitely bump elbows or join the conversation of someone sitting nearby without much effort. With that said it can get pretty loud inside. It’s a small space so there aren’t enough people and conversations going on for them to blend together like background noise. You can clearly hear what everyone is talking about if they aren’t whispering. Also, it’s an icebox inside. Dress appropriately for that or sit outside. We sat outside and it was pretty well climate controlled even in the summer heat. I live out of town but I would definitely go back for the food if I’m in town again and don’t mind splurging on a good meal.”
