Shine

“Shine is, by far, one of my all-time favorite restaurants, not just in Hendo, but in the world. The cuisine, libations, atmosphere, service are always impeccable. Saturday night (2/21/26) my husband and I were seated within minutes without a reservation (which we normally make because we know the place is always busy because it is so awesome.) Then we had the pleasure of being attended to by Naomi during our dining experience. She was so knowledgeable, kind, engaging, enthusiastic, and detail oriented. Answered every question, made wonderful suggestions, and was attentive without being overbearing. I worked in the food service industry for 20+ years, so I know an excellent dining and service experience when I see one, so to speak. I had the RI Dutchie raw oysters which were on special, a wedge salad, perfect dirty vodka martini (with bleu cheese stuffed olives) service, and an espresso. My husband had the French cut, dry rubbed wings, an Aviator, Dark & Stormy, and Moscow Mule (featuring their ginger beer which is made in house and is absolutely heavenly, btw!) Everything was delicious perfection! Best raw oysters I’ve eaten in my life! So much so, my husband and I have invited my husband’s sister and her husband to join us there this coming Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. I’ve already made the reservation! “The beef tartare was some of the best I've ever had; it was soft as butter and had extra capers and shallots on the side. The duck was also excellent, served with a seasonal sauce and a daily vegetable side, and cooked to perfection—the duck leg simply melts in your mouth. I compare the crème brûlée to what I've had in France: very rich, deep in flavor, heavy but satiny and smooth, and a manageable portion.”

“From start to finish, everything was phenomenal. Angel was my server, and he did a fantastic job recommending dishes to try as well as wine and beer pairings. Unfortunately they were out of Bulgagi, so I tried the Steak Frite instead. Quite frankly this was one of the best steak dishes I've ever had. And the French wine paired lovely. I had to twist my own arm just a bit to try dessert. But the creme brule was so creamy and tasty. You've got to try this place!”

“Stopped here for dinner after visiting Hendersonville for their apple festival. We loved this place! The server was so nice, delicious cocktails (not pictured), and great food! The duck fat fries were my favorite! Even though they were very busy, the food did not take long at all and everyone was so friendly. Will definitely be back should we be in the area!”

“Visiting for the night and made a reservation here before coming up. Recieved good reviews and wanted to give it a try. Split a wedge salad with the family, absolutely amazing. Probably the best wedge I ever had, pair that with the pretzels, appetizers where delicious. Wife got a steak sandwich, which was decent. Waitress said it would be cooked medium rare, but when it came to the table it had no pink in the middle, but it was solid. I got the short ribs and for the price was disappointed. It was tender, but the potatoes where really runny, almost the same consistency of the gravy. Will certainly eat here again and try something else on their menu. Lastly, our waitress was amazing. Kept checking on us, attentive, and was pleasant to talk to.”
