Fortune House - Irving is a Chinese restaurant in the Irving neighborhood of Irving.
“The menu has a lot of variety with some options that sound interesting and delicious. All of their dumplings are good but you HAVE to try the soup dumplings...so good! Good food that is reasonably priced makes it difficult to beat.”
“Stumbled onto Fortune House while searching for lunch spots in Irving and walked out a convert. Seated immediately, great service, and a waitress who steered me straight — recommended the sesame chicken and was completely right. Sesame chicken was crunchy outside, moist inside — perfectly executed. Fried rice and crab rangoons held their own alongside it. Dinner portion with fried rice and crab rangoons on the side. $27.06 before tip for food that punches well above that price point. I’ll be honest — I’m picky about Chinese food. Fortune House earned it anyway. SAS Verdict: Approved. One of the better lunch finds in Irving. Don’t sleep on it.”
“This is one of my most favorite restaurants in DFW. I need to also visit the Lower Greenville location! This Fortune House location is more family-friendly and has a relaxed atmosphere. The food is incredible and there is a large menu to choose from. Our favorites are the dumpling sampler (pan fried but steamed is also delicious) and the orange beef. We also always get jasmine tea and it is delicious. I tried the mango pudding for the first time and it was dairy free made with coconut milk. Service has always been exceptional here. Even if you can’t afford to buy multiple plates for a big meal the small plates are affordable and filling for lunch.”
“The Honey Beef with 6 buns was really disappointing. The beef was very tough and hard to chew — completely different from the picture. I’ve ordered other dishes before and they were great, but the beef this time was a letdown. The beef in the Dry-fried Rice Noodles was also big, tough, and not tender at all.”
“I was so excited to try Fortune house and ordered via Uber eats for the first time. I was shocked at the poor quality of the food. The pan fried pork buns had potential to be good, but they were completely burnt on the bottom. The burnt smell was horrendous and was all over the bun The hot and sour soup was also disgusting, worst I have ever had (And I absolutely love hot and sour soup normally). The soup was incredibly salty and lacking in filling… I don’t think I’ve ever seen hot and sour soup this color as well. Inedible. I also ordered the soup dumplings, Which were OK (The tops of the dumplings were very thick, and not a ton of filling), And the chili wontons (doughy taste, not a lot of filling). Overall, the best things were the fried wonton chips which came with the soup, and the sauces that came with the dumplings/wonton. Pretty sad for a meal, and shocking with how terrible it was”
