Emilia is an Italian restaurant in the Downtown Knoxville neighborhood of Knoxville.
“We have been to Emilia often, usually with a large group and for celebrating. Our meals are consistently good, well prepared and flavorful. John has been our server multiple times and he is attentive, friendly and efficient, even with a large group. Our favorite dishes include the grilled romaine hearts, pollo al mattone (2-3 in our group order it every time!), fusilli carbonara, salmon, gnocchi & the vegetarian pasta. Food & drinks are always delicious!”
“The food was amazing! Happily recommend the focaccia. We had the Pork Milanese and the Fusili Carbonara, both of which were done extremely well. For a Saturday night, they were able to seat us quickly and service was great.”
“Pollo al Mattone, it is the best chicken dish ever. We came here four years ago before going to see a play, and got it and it is delicious. We also got the Market Steak which was very good as well, but the Pollo al Mattone is the best. Our server Sara was wonderful, when we wanted to get a bottle of wine she gave us her suggestion, but sent over Keith who is a brilliant sommelier who works there. He went through a few options given that I like pinot noir, and my hunny likes merlot. I mentioned Barolo and his eyes lit up. We went with the Barolo he suggested and it was perfect for both of our dishes. Their wine list isn't huge or overwhelming they mainly have Italian wines which I am not familiar with, he made it a lot easier. We had a wonderful time. Very rarely have I ever thought the world would be a nicer place if everyone could have this chicken dish, and the Pollo al Mattone is that dish. Thank you Emilia's chefs for making such delicious food, and thank you Keith for putting together a wonderful wine list with Barolo.”
“We couldn’t get a reservation anywhere on downtown during grad day except this place. It is a cozy little place. We wanted black squid ink pasta but they didn’t have it. But they got Buccatini. Woohoo! Beet salad - we are a fan beets anything so it was good. Brussels sprouts- good flavor but overcooked and mushy. PEI mussel - was really good. Highly recommended Pulpo (grilled octopus) - a tad overcooked but not too bad. Focaccia bread w/ Ricotta cheese - yummy. The only sad part was when our waiter took the Ricotta away before we can scraped off every little bit of cheese from the container without us realizing it. Pasta carbonara- barely any pancetta but yummy. Pasta bolognese- I am not a fan of bolognese. Gnocchi- soft and fluffy pillows but sauce is alright. Desserts: Pistachio gelato- homemade and delicious Tiramisu- ok but I personally prefer ones with more espresso and alcohol.”
“I wasnt sure what to expect, but i saw they had handmade local food dishes so i took a shot. Being from new jersey and having had very good italian i was a bit skeptical. I had artichoke friski and the crab rosotto as recommended by the fantastic waitor. Blown away! The way they did this was just epic. The flavors and textures were wonderful and the food quality was stellar. I could see some other dishes at other tables and how they were prepare, and ill say i just want to come back for more. The wine selection was excellent. I found a wine i really enjoy at home on the menu. Italian valpolicella. Atmosphere was warm and rustic. Excellent choice for food and wine of great quality”
