“We were headed to Indianapolis for a concert so I looked up breweries on the way and came across Teays River. Still have no idea how to say that name. We pulled up and it’s nice from the outside but didn’t grab us as a brewery, not sure what we were expecting. We walked in and I was like oh yea this place is amazing!! We got a seat outside as you should in the summer. The outdoor space is super nice with lots of tables and plenty of shade. The bartender was our waitress and she was very nice (sorry I forgot your name) We ordered a few beers and wings and chips and cheese. She said we can do one order of wings with two sauces so we did, Buffalo and Asian. Holy smokes they were so delicious!! The chips and cheese was the perfect side, so yummy! The beers were great also! I wish this place was closer to home, the vibe is super cool. If you are traveling by Lafayette you need to stop by and enjoy this place for sure!”
“Great spot for beer and food, the Korean bbq wings were the highlight for sure. I also had the citrus chicken and a chocolate cheesecake but they were just ok.”
“As someone who appreciates a well-run establishment, Teays Rivers Lafayette In truly stands out as a genuine local gem. It's evident this place has been perfecting its craft for years, becoming a go-to spot for the community. We were there for dinner, and the buzz was palpable, yet the service flow was smooth. The building offers easy, step-free entry, a thoughtful touch, even if the older architecture means accessible restrooms and highchairs aren't part of the setup. Their commitment to quality shines through, especially in the juicy chicken wings and perfectly crafted hamburgers—dishes that require consistent execution. But the real masterstroke, the dish you simply must experience, is their Steak cooked to a precise medium-rare. It’s a testament to a kitchen that understands its ingredients and technique. The staff, too, operate with a noticeable professionalism and warmth. Logistically, they've done well to ensure easy parking, although a typical 15-minute wait is common, which, in my book, is a sign of a place doing things right. It’s also clearly a family-friendly spot where everyone feels welcome. I'd definitely bring my family back for another evening out.”
“While on a recent trip to Lafayette, a family member suggested I try this place out. I managed to make it over here recently. We came on a Thursday at around 7 PM and they were a little busy but we got a table. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive to us. I got the Brisket sandwich with house made chips as my entree. Overall it was pretty average. The meat was tender but lacked in seasoning, but the chips were pretty good. Overall, Teays, a pretty decent experience. I might come back to try their pizza!”
“The good: The beer here was pretty good with the malty beers being more solid than the hoppy ones - the malt-forward beers were solid and clean, but the two hazy beers I had were thin and overly bitter for style. The flat bread pizza was excellent, and I especially liked the crust. The host and waitress were both very pleasant, patient and accommodating. The bad: The bar area. The bar itself was fine, but both the bartender and the apparent manager were both unnecessarily abrupt and rude in 2 out of 2 interactions. TLDR: beer is fine, food is good, bar staff makes me never want to return.”
