Flux Restaurant is a New American restaurant in the Lisbon Falls neighborhood of Lisbon Falls.
“Best restaurant in Maine. Especially because it used to be and it still is. These guys don't cut any corners. Combine amazing ingredients, wild and subtle techniques, highly artistic presentation, and the use of locally sourced and house cured-fermented-reduced-expanded-whatevered and you have quite the menu delivered flawlessly. Introduced us to slow cooked honey caramel. It was divine. But perhaps most importantly, everyone seemed happy and everyone was having a good time in there. There aren't a ton of family-run places left like this. And there's a reason, because it's ridiculously hard work. And you don't necessarily make a ton of money. So you only do this if you really love it. And it's clear they love it and they nail it. Thanks for the wonderful experience.”
“One of the best meals I've had in a long time. Was gobsmacked by how juicy and meaty the Chilean sea bass was, perfectly cooked and probably the best piece of white fish I've ever had. The potato paves in the poutine and fish and chips were also so inventive and delicious as an alternative to fries. Mussels were huge, plump and tender. Oyster stew special was creamy without being overly rich, and super generous with the amount of oysters. Frost gully cheese special was a welcome bright and refreshing dish among rich and succulent appetizers. Our server was lovely and felt omnipotent in a helpful way, picking up on relevant things we were discussing about the menu and responding to help us come to decisions. Overall felt like fine dining quality dishes but in a laid-back environment and I so appreciated that. So sad I'm not local because I'd come here all the time to try their frequently changing special menus!”
“4.5 A nice surprise in the small town of Lisbon! We really enjoyed our meals. The atmosphere is nice. Our waitress was attentive. I highly recommend the Flux Burger and Fried Chicken Sandwich. It’s on the pricey side but worth it! We spend $120 including tip on 2 drinks, an app, and 2 meals”
“Mediocre is the overall rating. How they were nominated for any awards is beyond me. We'd been wanting to go here for several years and finally made it out. What a disappointment. Pros- the mussels were very fresh with a delicious sauce and great sourdough. Cons- the cocktails were fine. Nothing special. Fish and chips were mediocre. The batter was very thin and the fish was dry. For a $30+ meal, do something to the ketchup or make another sauce. And serve it with lemon. The mushroom fried rice was a disaster. The rice itself was extremely salty, borderline inedible. The mushrooms were overly sweet and there was nothing special about it. It needed spice and acid and texture. It was a bowl of mush and soft. There were even clumps of white unseasoned rice throughout. Rookie dish and so pedestrian. Our waitress was more worried about upselling us than checking in throughout the meal. Never asked about dietary restrictions or allergies. She had zero personality and it really made the meal even more boring. Overall will not return. Such a disappointment and it ruined my husband's birthday dinner.”
“So I will start with the good. The poutine was excellent and my wife’s scallop dinner was great! Now the bad…. The chicken sandwich had no flavor and the fries tasted stale and were like rocks. Then we get the bill…. They charged $5.00 for soda and $5.00 for an Arnold Palmer. Outrageous! Next the bill automatically charged a 3% admin fee that is a tip for the kitchen. So the waitress gets 20% plus another 3% to the kitchen! Seriously!!! This was charged without prior notice!!! Again outrageous! This place charges way too much for in my opinion mediocre food !!!”
