Angelini Osteria by Chef Gino Angelini is often considered LA's favorite Italian restaurant. Gino Angelini's contemporary osteria is rooted in tradition with a nod to the modern world. The menu features pasta, vegetable, fish, and meat dishes from all across Gino's native Italy.
“Best Italian restaurant! The owner, David was very knowledgeable and attentive to my food allergy concerns. I was very happy and impressed to hear that the flatbread and pizzas were made with 00 Italian flour and had no preservatives. All the food was fresh and delicious- starting with the flavorful lavosh/ flatbread and the thin crust pesto pizza made with 00 Italian flour. The pesto was unique and flavorful. The risotto mare was cooked to perfection and the two pastas were so delicious -the pumpkin tortellini and tagliolini limone - cooked al dente and perfectly! Compliments to the Chef! And to our server Nick and David who made sure that they got it all right -without even writing anything down! All 5 of us loved everything we ordered and highly recommend this authentic Italian restaurant serving high quality food and natural ingredients. Nice ambience with a lovely outdoor patio.”
“Antonello and Michele made sure that 10 of us last night had one of the best food experiences ever had!! Exceptional food and presentation!! Recommend it to any that want to have an authentic Italian Food Experience in Los Angeles! It’s not our first time and will definitely be back. Don’t forget to try their Bone marrow!!”
“A True Italian Gem in LA – Authentic Vibe and Exceptional Flavors! My family (my wife, our son, and I) had a fantastic dinner here last night. If you are looking for a genuine Italian "Osteria" experience in Los Angeles, this is the place to be. We booked a table for three at 8:30 PM in the "Restaurant" section. It was the perfect choice. While the atmosphere is lively and a bit loud (just like a real osteria in Italy!), the later slot allowed us to enjoy our meal and conversation without feeling rushed by a following reservation. Highly recommend booking in advance. We started with sharing plates: * Zucchini Flowers: Stuffed with ricotta and herbs, then fried in a delicate rice flour batter. Served over a slightly spicy tomato sauce, they were exquisite. Tip: Try adding some freshly cracked black pepper; it really elevates the flavors! * Polipo: Tender, warm octopus pieces served with plenty of arugula, cherry tomatoes, and a zesty lemon dressing. Fresh and perfectly balanced. For our main courses: * Pumpkin Tortelli: My wife’s choice. These were delicate, handmade squares filled with sweet pumpkin puree, served with asparagus and Parmesan. A beautiful blend of sweet and savory. * Lasagna Verde "Nonna Elvira": Our son went for this signature dish. Layers of green handmade pasta with a rich beef ragu, topped with unique crispy baby spinach. It’s a classic for a reason—truly delicious. * Tagliolini al Limone: This was my highlight. Long, thin pasta in a creamy lemon, basil, and Parmesan sauce. It was magnificent. I added a touch of black pepper, which made it perfect without needing extra cheese. Dessert & Drinks: My son ordered the Tiramisu, and after tasting it, I can confirm it’s one of the best in town. To drink, my wife started with a classic Aperol Spritz, while my son and I shared a bottle of Chianti Classico, which paired beautifully with the entire meal. For the quality of ingredients and the skill in the kitchen, the price-performance ratio is excellent. Next time, I’m definitely coming back for the wood-fired pizza and the porchetta. A must-visit for any Italian food lover in LA!”
“Really enjoyed the food here. Everything we ordered was well made, comforting, and full of flavour in that proper Italian way. Nothing felt overdone or gimmicky, just solid, good food done right. The menu is thoughtful, portions are satisfying, and it’s the kind of place you’d happily return to just to eat your way through more dishes. Overall, a great spot if you’re looking for genuinely good Italian food in LA.”
“Last time I had Angelini Osteria was 13 yrs ago it was good back then and its still very good today, the consistency is amazing. Nothing was amiss, all the food we ordered was spot on. Even the afogato hits just the right spot!”
