“Nestled within the back yard of the Volume hotel in Hollywood, is a jam you’ll want to discover: a Tulum inspired, Mexican restaurant, with a relaxing and semi jungle atmosphere. There’s a very nice outside , but for our first time we sat inside. We ordered two appetizers, one main course and two sides. That was ample for two, hungry, men… The food was absolutely delicious and very nicely plated. Highlights were: freshly made guacamole, amazing and really big lamb shank, and the bravas potatoes that were still talking about… The dessert was on the house, since we celebrated a birthday. Israel, our server, was friendly and attentive and everyone was kind and helpful. Highly recommended!”
“Wow. Was staying at the hotel so I thought at least one night I would stop by to have dinner. Ate at the bar and served by Selma who was very informative and friendly. Started with a margarita which was very well done and started with the oysters. They were large and very tasty. Dinner was the short rib which was served on a tortilla with some hot sauce, salsa verde, and au jus. My only concern was how do I eat this!?!? I poured the salsa verde over the whole thing and poured the au jus into the sals a verde bowl for dipping. This worked but still a bit messy. The short rib was perfectly cooked and the flavors were wonderful. Paired the meal with some amber Modello and finished with the crème brûlée. This was by and far my favourite meal of my trip.”
“Such a great time! Loved the beautiful setting with beautiful design and plants all around. Loved the authentic and warm spirit of service the staff delivered and of course the food was full of flavor, carefully crafted and beautifully presented. I was also impressed with the vegetarian options. Don’t worry too much about it being an outdoor only restaurant! Each seat has a blanket available, heat lamps and fire places galore.”
“Had a reservation this past Saturday at Ka’Teen and loved every minute. Service was outstanding , our server Mey was great, friendly , funny and went above and beyond. Every dish was presented nicely and delicious. Mey was knowledgeable of the Menu and made sure to ask about and attend to any allergies. The ambience and atmosphere was great, dimly lit, music playing not too loudly. Drinks were amazing as well. Highly recommend Kateen”
“We had a wonderful experience at Ka'teen from the moment we were greeted at the front. Our server was friendly and caring, and took the time to thoughtfully walk us through the menu as it was our first time. We had a reservation so there was no wait in being seated. We appreciated being asked whether we were celebrating a special occasion, to which we responded "yes, it was my birthday". There were plenty of thoughtful touches throughout, including the music, the lush tropical decor, and heaters and blankets because it was a chilly evening. My son looked at the photos and said it looked like Miami. My wife and I thought the place reminded us of Mexico City. The food was wonderfully vibrant and beautifully presented. Each dish tasted new to us, which is not something we often experience. The crab enchiladas were perfection. The vibe was so easygoing and friendly that we struck up conversations with the tables next to us, comparing our experiences, and considering what dishes we would order the next time we visit, which I expect will be very soon! Valet parking was $17 for about two hours, which is not unusual for this neighborhood.”
