Quarter Sheets

“My first time visiting California and we wanted to try a pizza place. My son found Quarter Sheets and it was worth the trip. We tried the meatballs and was given a slice of garlic cheese bread with it and the meatballs and the bread were delicious! We ordered the bar pizza and individual slices. All were delicious. The bar pizza has a very thin crisp crust and the slices were thick and fluffy. Two very different styles but both were really good. Of course we had to try a dessert and we opted for the princess cake which was absolutely amazing! I look forward to a return visit to Quarter Sheets.”

“I got here a few minutes before they opened on a Thursday, once their doors were opened we got right in at a couple seats at the bar. It was already packed full, the place is tiny but the vibes and aesthetic are just right. Service was great! My friend had a couple slices, I got their meatballs which I will rave about until further notice. We shared a princess cake slice and OH. MY. GAWD. it made me feel something, finally. I will remember this princess cake slice until the day I die.”

“I think Detroit-style pizza is the best kind of pizza and they do it so well at Quarter Sheets! The hours are quirky and the wait can get long — 50 minutes on a Wednesday night ??? We ordered the Red Top, Pepperoni, Turning Leaf, and Tomato Slice, which was perfect for 2. The Red Top is basically the Tomato Slice with cheese underneath and the Pepperoni without the meat and it ended up being my favorite bite of the night because I wasn't a fan of the green chili in the Turning Leaf. The crust is fluffy, doughy, and airy without feeling heavy — although ironically it’s doing a lot of heavy lifting for this pizza — and you can really tell that they put a lot of love and time into this dough. The tomato sauce complements it well, leaving you yearning for another bite. We finished with the tangy, sweet, and expensive ricotta cheesecake ($15 ???) because they sold out of the princess cake (which FYI it has nuts). It ended up being around $22 per person and I would do it again, although I would probably try to snag a reservation lol”

“Good pizza in LA still sounds like a funny phrase to me, like saying good Mexican food in Mongolia. But maybe that’s just me being misinformed and being out of the LA food scene for the past few years. But with so many people saying this pizza was good, I had to try on my visit back in town. And to confirm—yes the pizza is good. The sheet pan style gives a nice crunch ratio that feels unfamiliar, yet right. The thickness of the pie also surprised me at first, but makes me feel like I’m eating a proper meal. I wouldn’t say it comes close to my favorite pizzas in NYC, but still a good fix. Surprisingly, the salad here was a standout dish. The strong, acidic, vinegary bite is a nice palate cleanser in between pizza bites. And the princess cake is as good as they say it is.”

“First off, this place is small so I understood why a reservation is needed. We did not make a reservation but we came an hour early and we were able to get a table right when they opened. From all the reviews about this place, I had high expectations. We ordered a slice of each flavor and a whole pie of there thin crust. Verdict, there desserts, especially the princess cake, taste better than there pizza. Pizza is good but not great. You can find better Detroit style pizza in Los Angeles. Menu is small and overpriced. It's not worth waiting in line for. Are we in San Francisco because the restaurant does not have a sign at all.”
