Michter’s The Bar at Fort Nelson is a Cocktail Bar restaurant in the Louisville neighborhood of Louisville.
“This is always a great time. The cocktails and service are amazing! The view from the bar is exciting and provides some interesting people watching of Whiskey Row! Plus you can get some pretty rare Michter’s pours!”
“The Bar at Fort Nelson, which is itself the bar within the Michters outpost in Louisville, was a high quality bourbon experience and one I imagine most folks would enjoy. The setup is interesting - with the check in desk on the first floor who then lets you up when there's capacity. For sure prevents the bar from being overcrowded, but it does pretty much require a reservation/extra steps. The bar itself is well appointed, if not a bit bland decorations wise. Service was solid throughout and the bourbon flight options quite fun. Would come back with friends next time I'm in Louisville.”
“Great tour and tasting by our adorable little tour guide Paige. Everything we tasted was very good and the tour was very informative. Definitely recommend Michter's if you are down on Whiskey Row.”
“We enjoyed a great tour and tasting at Michters Fort Nelson location. Great variety of tastings with a wonderful guide. Definitely add this to your Bourbon road lineup, highly recommend.”
“My friends and I stopped by since we were a bit early to a dinner reservation in the area. I do think on a busy night, it would be best to make a reservation. You enter through their merchandise shop and check-in. There is a very large variety of fun merchandise- T-shirts, glasses, decor, pins, stickers, some fancier things-- something for everyone, even the pups. There is an elevator and a staircase to get you to the bar on the second floor and it is a beautiful, inviting area. Great for groups probably up to 4 people. I believe there was one or two tables for maybe 5-6 people. The bartenders are so engaging and so eager to answer any questions and have a fun conversation. Their recommendations on cocktails were fantastic. They have a great variety of beautiful cocktails (even for those who don't like whiskey 🤫🫣). They do switch up the cocktails but, when I went, they have some that are more tropical, fruit-forward whiskey and non-whiskey drinks as well as some more spice-forward. My favorite was the Nectar of the Gods, a horchata-inspired cocktail. 🥰”
