“Perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. Food was delicious and the service was excellent, especially considering we arrived an hour before they closed. Super welcoming and attentive staff. We came to visit from Sacramento. We knew we were in for a wonderful time when we saw a shooting star on our way here.”
“The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Our server, Vanessa, was very nice and friendly. We are planning to return for brunch soon.”
“Came for happy hour and had a blast. Thanks to Adam for answering our questions and making a great Brandy Press, cocktail of the day. We had the Reuben rolls, calamari and chicken dore (best of the three items we ordered in my opinion -- the vegetables and mashed potatoes were exquisite). Loved the local atmosphere. Will definitely return.”
“Don't ask how, but this awesome family-owned and operated pub—a Marin staple that has its roots in Northern New Jersey—somehow managed to find its way across the continent and ended up right here in Novato, CA, where delicious tacos and potent 100% Agave tequila usually rule! The secret sauce is the Finnegan family, who brought a piece of the East Coast with them. The Novato location, which opened in 1985, is the oldest continually run pub in Marin, and the family connection runs even deeper. The original Finnegan’s, founded in 1978 in Hoboken, New Jersey, was opened by the grandfather of the current owners. Now that's what you call lineage! Judging from all the happy faces in the place, no one is complaining about this Jersey transplant! Years and years ago, when I lived in New Jersey, I visited the Hoboken location often, and I must say it was one of our favorite hangout spots. Finnegan's is the kind of place where happy hour wings and a crisp Cobb Salad perfectly pair with a couple of top-notch IPAs. My significant other went for the classic Fish n’ Chips—and I can attest that those chips are worth fighting over! We were happy as a couple of clams, even if I was the designated driver. If there had been a game on, I tell you, I would not have stopped at just two IPAs! It’s a pub built for staying awhile, steeped in local history, and still serving up that classic Finnegan's hospitality from the minute they opened over 35 years ago on Grant Avenue.”
“Literally just walked out at 10:45am!It’s a shame because we were excited to try this restaurant for the very first time for breakfast. From the moment we sat down and the server came to our table she was completely unpleasant and had a major attitude. Very condescending but with a smile. It was as if she didn’t want us to be there and took it out on us. If I were the owners I would seriously be concerned with this server taking care of customers. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to try the food, but we weren’t willing to spend our money in a place where we’re not welcomed. So, we walked a few minutes down the road and went to the Grazie restaurant. Amazing experience. Amazing customer service. Don’t spend your money in places where you get poor service. There are too many choices out there!”
