Upon arriving, Nya was incredibly welcoming and helpful, guiding me through everything that would take place for our group. The tables were already set up and ready when we arrived, which made the process seamless. Once the students were seated, Roxena, Jane, and Lila did an excellent job taking drink orders, serving beverages, and ensuring meals were delivered promptly. The food came out quickly, and the delicious chocolate chip cookies that followed were the perfect ending to the meal. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and every staff member was kind, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy serving guests. A special thank you to Mat Walker for taking the time to visit with the adults of our group. It's clear that you value and take great care of your staff, and that positive culture shines through in the service they provide. Even on a busy night, we were greeted right away and seated almost immediately, which set the tone for the rest of the visit. The space has that classic pub feel you’d expect to find in England or Ireland, with dark wood, comfortable seating, and an atmosphere that feels both energetic and welcoming. It practically insisted that I order a Guinness, especially since it was on tap, and it was exactly the right choice for the setting. Blackfinn stands out in a neighborhood full of restaurants because it blends the comfort of a traditional pub with the versatility of a modern American bar and grill. While many nearby spots lean heavily toward fast‑casual or upscale dining, Blackfinn hits that perfect middle ground, a place where you can settle in for a full meal, grab a drink, or watch a game without feeling rushed. The variety of seating options makes it easy to find your spot, whether you want a table for dinner, a high‑top near the bar, or a seat with a clear view of one of the many TVs showing sporting events. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a good meal and still keep an eye on the action. We started with the Garlic Pretzel appetizer, which paired perfectly with our drinks. Warm, soft, and full of flavor, it was the ideal way to ease into the evening while we looked over the menu. My wife ordered the Lemon Chicken and loved every bite, tender, bright, and full of flavor. I went with the Finn Fries, and they were outstanding. The seasoning was so good that I genuinely wished I could buy a bottle of it to take home. Everything came out hot, fresh, and clearly made with care. The service made the experience even better. The host and our server, Max, were outstanding, friendly, attentive, and working together seamlessly even with the crowd. They struck that perfect balance of being present without hovering, and they made us feel taken care of throughout the meal. Blackfinn DC is the kind of place that gets the fundamentals right: great food, great service, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. Whether you’re stopping in for dinner, grabbing a drink, or looking for a spot to watch a game, it delivers on every level. We had a fantastic visit and would happily return on our next trip to the area.”

“We really liked it here. We had the bbq mac n cheese and the blackened chicken Alfredo. Both were amazing. She also had the cherry blossom tini. Wasn’t crazy busy but was a very good experience. Would highly recommend coming here. Pricing wasn’t bad compared to a lot of other places in the area. There was way more personality and a better atmosphere here than most of the surrounding area.”

“We were visiting DC on vacation and decided to try Blackfinn DC. The food was really good and we enjoyed what we ordered. Unfortunately, our server did not give us the best service, which took away from the experience. Overall, the food was great, but the service could definitely be improved.”
