Dauphin's is a Creole restaurant in the Downtown Mobile neighborhood of Mobile.
“From the moment we stepped off the elevator, we were greeted warmly by Amber, one of the hostesses. The ambiance and view of the city are just indescribable. Our server, Domo was great. Often I find that restaurants with exceptional service and atmosphere are lacking in taste quality. That was not the case at Dauphin’s. I have to return here every time I’m in the Mobile area. The bread and butter tasted heavenly. We also had the West Indies crab salad and duck dish which were so good words don’t do them justice.”
“The service was exceptional and the food was outstanding. From the beautiful view to the quality of the dishes and attentive service, everything exceeded expectations. Since it was our first time, I asked our server for their best sellers and she confidently said they were all chef’s recommendations and she was absolutely right as everything we tried was amazing. We do not usually eat raw fish but their Haole Poke completely changed our perspective and made us appreciate how delicious raw dishes can be. I also loved that the portions were satisfying and filling. Overall, everything was excellent and the servers consistently checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed which made the experience even more enjoyable. Thank you for such a wonderful time, we will definitely be coming back soon!”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Birthday Brunch Experience I hosted a birthday brunch for my mother at this restaurant on Joe Cain, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. Making the reservation was seamless, even while I was residing in Virginia. Meghan provided outstanding support—she was prompt, courteous, and professional in all email and phone communications. The event space was beautifully arranged, and the view of the city created an elegant and memorable atmosphere. The food was excellent; I highly recommend trying all three mimosa options. The fruit tray was generous and impressively fresh and sweet. Our servers, Ev and a female server whose name I unfortunately did not catch, provided exemplary service. Their attentiveness and professionalism greatly contributed to the success of the occasion. My mother, along with our family and friends, was genuinely moved and overjoyed by the experience. I look forward to returning for a date night with my husband, and I highly recommend this restaurant to others seeking quality service and a refined dining experience. The only challenge was locating the complimentary parking garage, which was somewhat difficult to find. However, this was a minor inconvenience compared to the overall exceptional service we received.”
“05/26/26 - The hostess was friendly. I didn't get her name but she made sure to give a nice view and later obliged us by taking a photo for us. Our waiter was Houston and he was knowledgeable about the wines and dishes. We loved the fried green tomatoes with shrimp appetizer. The mashed potatoes with my husband's meal was smooth and flavorful. We had key lime pie with coffee ice cream for dessert. Maybe next time we'll arrive early enough to enjoy the view.”
“Wowzer for the view. It's a great view and definitely worth a trip to see. Service was good, but definitely at a liesurely pace. The food was acceptable, but we love food and nothing was good enough to bring us back again. Prices were reasonably, definitely in line with other restaurants. We arrived on time for our reservation and had to wait to be seated. Not sure why. A group of ladies who arrived ahead of us had the same fate. After about 10 minutes our table was ready. We had 11:30am reservations and there were perhaps three tables seated, so it's not like the restaurant was overwhelmed or even busy. Cocktail took awhile to make and one of the featured cocktails, which we ordered, had an issue as they were out of the published Rye. We had gumbo and the (special) fried green tomatoes to start. Both were good though the gumbo was barely warm. For mains we had Grillades and the Flounder. Mains were served on a trolley... Definitely old school style service. The Grillades were barely warm. And for dessert we had the $4 chocolate cake. The food all tasted okay, it just could have been hot instead of luke warm. The Grillades were more tasteless than even savory. We'd take guests back for the view but we'll otherwise give this place a pass when we are looking for a more refined dining experience in downtown Mobile. The food was just good and not great.”
