“Great restaurant. We sat out on the patio. I got the summer Cobb salad and my husband ordered the smash burger. Both were great!! This restaurant was in a cute little community that was fun to drive through. Very scenic. Loved the area.”
“Here’s a review you could post: My friends and I recently visited Mt. Gretna Hideaway, and we had a wonderful experience. The food was very good, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the restaurant itself was great. What truly made our visit stand out, however, was the exceptional service we received from our server, Jenna. Jenna was absolutely amazing from start to finish. She was friendly, attentive, professional, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. Great service can make all the difference when dining out, and Jenna’s outstanding customer service is what turned a good meal into a great experience. Thank you, Jenna, and the entire team at Mt. Gretna Hideaway. We look forward to coming back again soon!”
“If you can find it (joking, it's called the Hideaway) you will enjoy your time there. Plenty of outdoor seating for three season weather, and there is indoor seating with a nice bar area. Staff very helpful and their craft beer selection is good. Food is also excellent and well prepared. And check out their live music schedule on their website. This is a relaxing place to hang out, enjoy the scenery and the company you are with.”
“I came here for dinner in a weeknight in April. I sat at the bar and was greeted immediately by the bartender who provided menus and came back shortly for my order. I had a cocktail and ordered the house salad with chicken. My salad came out quickly and was good. There weren’t too many people sitting in the bar area but there were many cars in the parking lot so I’m assuming the dining area was busier. The bartender was friendly at attentive. The menu had a lot of items to choose from and they have a specials menu. I was here one other time on the past but sat at the bar on the deck and I don’t remember what I had to eat. That time I specifically came here for the live band they had that night. Check their socials to see what nights they have entertainment. Prices were comparable to most other restaurants in the area. Parking was easy. There is a big lot next to the building. I would assume this gets more crowded in the summer months when the deck is open.”
“I’ve been to the Hideaway several times, as well as many of the Funck’s Restaurant Group locations. The Hideaway’s location, atmosphere, and service are great, much like its sister restaurants. I’ve also had several good meals here, which made this visit disappointing. I ordered the No. 3 roast beef special, which I’ve had before and enjoyed. It’s advertised as fresh top round slowly roasted for 8 hours, served hot on sourdough and smothered in gravy. The quality did not match what was advertised. The gravy was pale and tasted reheated, lacking the rich brown flavor you’d expect from roast beef drippings. The roast beef was gray and not very flavorful or tender. It didn’t have the fresh, slow-roasted quality described on the menu. Sharing this feedback because I know the Hideaway is capable of better, and consistency is important, especially from a restaurant group with multiple locations.”
