Luigi's is an Italian restaurant in the New Hyde Park neighborhood of New Hyde Park.
“Recently had a family dinner at Luigi’s. We’ve been coming here for years now and it’s one of our favorite places to dine in. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, service is great, and food is delicious. I had the lamb rack special with a side of the creamy polenta and asparagus - 10/10! We ordered the fried calamari and shrimp tempura appetizers (not pictured). I can always count on the consistent food and service here. Would recommend making reservations ahead of time, especially if it’s during the dinner rush.”
“I recently hosted a Celebration of Life luncheon for 35 people in Luigi’s private Garden room. It was perfect. Luigi’s has been a family favorite for many years but I honestly didn’t expect their on-site catering to be so incredible. They checked all the boxes…and then some. They allowed us into the restaurant early to set up the room during which time the servers were on hand to help ✅ Guests were blown away by the outstanding family style appetizers which included Fritto Misto, House Made Fresh Mozzarella and Salumi Antipasto. We could have stopped right there and been happy ✅ Lunch included Classic Caesar and Marinated Beet salads, then Farfalle & Sausage, Chicken Parm and Prime Hanger Steak. All delicious ✅ For dessert we chose Tiramisu and NY Style Cheesecake. No complaints there ✅ As important as the food was the service. Cordial, genial, and on the mark. They waited patiently while the eulogy was delivered and made up the time with ease ✅ The Garden room, being in the rear, was quiet and unaffected by the popular, crowded, noisy dining room ✅ I would not hesitate to host another private event at Luigi’s.”
“We came to Luigi’s on a Sunday evening for dinner for two. This was our first time and immediately our first impression was the ambiance was lovely. However, despite making a reservation, we ended up waiting for over 30 minutes. I don’t normally mind waiting, especially when I can see that the restaurant is busy. What threw us off was that we made a reservation and nobody gave us a heads up or communicated that it would be a wait. After about 35-ish minutes of waiting, my fiancé had to go up to see what was going on. I’m not sure if we would have been forgotten or not had he not done that. It kind of made the reservation useless. That’s really the only reason I took off a star. Otherwise, we had a great time. Our server was wonderful and I’m so sorry I forgot her name-but she was a young woman serving us Sunday evening. 5 stars for her. We ordered a margherita wood oven pizza to start which was phenomenal. Fiancé had the seafood pasta and loved it, he cleared his plate. I had the chicken parm alla vodka which was perfect!! The chicken parm was cooked perfectly but it was HUGE, so I did have to pack some home. It tasted just as great the next day :) All of the staff who served us at our table were super attentive and kind, we appreciated that.”
“The service for Mother’s day ‘26 was lousy. We had reservations but still waited outside for almost an hour for our table. When at the table the waiter recommended ‘Family Style’ for the appetizers and suggested the following three, Calamari, Pizza and mozzarella sticks. There were 8 of us. Half were small children so they don’t eat like adults. The waiter didn’t tell us ‘Family Style’ is not one larger plate for the table to share but two orders of the same thing. To make it worse we ordered baked clams, not family style, but he doubled the order anyway. When the appetizers came out, 8 dishes. 160 bucks worth of food we were overwhelmed and we were shocked. Didn’t even fit on the table. The waiter obviously padded the bill without any regard to our dining experience. After the appetizers came out, were eaten and in no way finished. We were soo stuffed. We didn’t even have room for the entrees. Then the entrees came to the table. Right after he served the entrees, just minutes later they brought out the tin to go containers and brown paper bags. This place and service was all about the money. No caring about our experience.”
“Had a roast beef Americano hero Take out from the lunch menu. Had one thin slice of roast beef folded in half on each side of the hero. Pathetic would never order from here again. *Update* I tried a different lunch hero because of coworkers ordering here. Had the Patsy; I’ll give it 3 stars. It tasted good but they barely gave a slice of prosciutto on each side. And the chicken cutlet was cut in half. Plus not enough ricotta and sauce was lacking. For $13 it should be much better! And once again too much bread considering the amount I got. Most likely done with this place unless I’m starving and this is the place picked at work!”
