“I truely loved this place. Indian food with new dishes I’ve haven’t tasted before. Their eggplant chaat is a must try. The aam paana and mango lassi were a taste of nostalgia for me. The buttery butter chicken, daal makhani, malai kofta curry was delicious. Me being a chicken fan, their chicken sheesh kababs were authentic flavorful. I thought I never say this but their veg biryani was just like non veg biryani minus the meat. The chefs signature orange kulfi was Devine. Would definitely recommend this place”
“Benares Tribeca is a great choice if you’re craving authentic Indian flavors with a modern twist in a cozy yet stylish setting. The menu has a nice mix of classics — think fragrant biryani, rich butter chicken, crisp samosas, and flavorful tandoori chicken — and the naan and sauces are perfect for soaking up every last bite. I found the service friendly and attentive, and the vibe feels upscale without being pretentious — great for a date night or chill dinner with friends. The lunch deals are a nice bonus if you’re stopping by midday. If you’re new to Indian cuisine or want a well-rounded meal with bold, balanced spices, this spot delivered for me.”
“Very nice experience and service by Monir and Prashad. I got the Dal Tadka (lentils) and it was excellent. I had a special request to not use oil to prepare my dinner but butter instead, and to be easy on the salt and Prashad happily assured me. Very nice ambiance. My parents said their food was excellent as well.”
“During my lunch visit, the restaurant was quite busy. I selected the vegetarian prix fixe option, which included paneer tikka for the appetizer and bindi masala for the entrée. Although there was a slight delay due to an order mix-up, the overall flavor of the dishes was satisfactory.”
“The food was average. While not bad, I noticed a hair in the curry. When I brought it to the manager's attention, they handled the situation calmly. Given that it was a large party, I did not wish to cause a fuss. They were aware I wouldn't be able to eat the remaining kofta, but they didn't seem to care. While they offered an apology, it did not feel sincere. There was no offer of compensation or any indication of future caution. I was very disappointed. While the staff is friendly, there was an issue during the inspection with finding a hair in the food. The staff did not appear to investigate how this happened, nor did they speak with the chef about the issue. I hope that the next inspection will result in a negative score, as this will hopefully encourage improvement. The food was average. There wasn't anything negative about it, but it wasn't particularly memorable and I wouldn't miss it again.”
