“Emmy winner Indian comedian/actor vir das recommended this restaurant. They have some non traditional appetizers and entrees. Food was tasty but not to the level where you would want to come here over and over. I would definitely return for their brunch menu which has lot of my favorite dishes. I’ll update the review after that visit. Prices are little steep for an Indian restaurant. Their average menu item is $30. For context celebrity chef vikas khanna charges around $20-$25 for average menu item in his restaurant bungalow. Just few streets down if you dine in an equally nice restaurant average menu price drops around $15-$20. Service was quick but may be I went at odd time so it was my party and one other table. Mocktails were so so. On an average, food and dessert were okay, nothing to write home about. Although, food won’t disappoint you.”
“It is the best Indian restaurants in the New York and I have been to India or London to taste all kinds of Indian fine dining. The flavor is bold yet clean, not over sugary or saucy. The first time I was there, I was impressed with the Garlicky cauliflower and since then I have been keeping coming back.”
“I was visiting New York for my 40th birthday and my brother and I stopped by Paisley without a reservation. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and we were immediately offered a table but we opted to sit at the bar. The bar staff were amazing. David and his colleague whose name escapes me at the moment were amazing company that provided great conversation and excellent food and drink recommendations (try the Drop the Beet and the Tamarind Pisco Sour). We were fortunate that the owner was also in that evening and we struck up a conversation at the bar. He was an absolute gem of a person and we were excited to find out we shared a common cultural background. He recommended the Lamb Gilafi and Chicken Tikka which were both amazing dishes, but his recommendation of the Burrata Chaat was the star of the show. For our mains, we had the Lamb Shank and a White Butter Chicken which honestly were some of the best Indian dishes I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. What made the dining experience even more special was Chef Tejas came out to describe the process and thought put into each dish. He gave us a breakdown of the ingredients used along with the techniques to produce such wonderful food. We were blown away by the experience and could feel the passion he had for the cooking in general. Overall, our visit to Paisley made my trip to NYC memorable and the dining experience is something I will never forget due to the mouthwatering food and amazing staff. Highly recommended!”
“This place was an absolute stellar experience. Upon entering, I had a very nice mezcal drink with Kashmiri pepper, and spoke with the owner about different food and spices, she was very nice and welcoming. We ordered Himalayan Momo, paratha, naan, chicken biryani and lamb vindaloo as well as lentil dumplings. Everything had such unique flavor and spice! Absolutely blown away by the food, service was great and atmosphere was a delight.”
“amazing service! we ordered the goat curry, zafrani malai kofta, delhi style chaat, garlic naan, and onion chili naan. great for family as the restaurant was quiet enough for proper conversation. we loved it”
