Elephant District brings Bangkok riverside street food to Dumbo. Executive Chef Ekapol “Top” Aranyawikul's menu features Krapow Moo Krob, stir-fried crispy pork belly with Thai holy basil, chili, and garlic inspired by his mother’s recipe; and Brooklyn Bridge Pad Thai with jumbo prawn. In keeping with our riverside vibe we serve a wealth of other fish and seafood: Yum Pla Krob, crispy tuna with mango, tomato, peanuts, and chili lime dressing; Choo Chee Pla, fried branzino in a fragrant Southern Thai coconut red curry with basil, bell pepper, and lime leaves; and Khao Soi Pu Nim, soft shell crab in dry Northern curry with egg noodles and crispy fried noodles as well as Khao Pad Tom Yum Talay, spicy and tart seafood fried rice with giant prawn, mussels, and squid flavored with galangal, makrut lime leaves, and chili. Our restaurant is named for Tha Chang Wang Luang, Bangkok’s Elephant Pier on the banks of the Chao Praya River where the elephants of King Rama I were bathed in the late 18th Century.
“Everything we ordered was delicious: 🥭 Mango Sticky Rice – super fresh, perfectly sweet, and easily one of the best desserts I’ve had recently. 🍤 Tom Yum Fried Rice – packed with seafood and full of flavor. Every bite was satisfying. 🦆 Khao Soi Ped – the duck was incredibly tender and juicy, soaking up the rich curry sauce beautifully. Definitely a standout dish. 🍗 Chicken Wings – my friend and I literally looked at each other after the first bite. So crispy and flavorful! 🦀 Elephant Salad – crispy soft-shell crab with refreshing mango salad and a light tangy-spicy dressing. A great starter that really wakes up your appetite.”
“Read great reviews online and this place did not disappoint! The food was delicious: the dumbo dumplings, lobster pad Thai and calamari were all amazing and the drinks (Thai iced tea and pea blossom lemonade) were tasty, too. The best part was the service. Kay was fun, honest with her recommendations and very attentive. Our daughter, after a few bites remarked, “I want to move here just for the food!” Will definitely be back the next time we’re in Brooklyn — but maybe for patio seating. Elephant District for the win!”
“The food was awesome,we went to having lunch and Every dish we ordered was bursting with flavor! The balance of sweet, sour, and spicy in the Shrimp-Padthai was absolutely perfect. Hands down, one of the most authentic Thai meals I've had.The stuff is so friendly and recommended the menu to us with smile creating a truly welcoming atmosphere, I would definitely come back here every time I visit NYC. 👍💕✨”
“Walking in we were greeted and welcomed. Kay took over and was so friendly. She was very patient describing the dishes and helped us put our order together. The lobster was succulent, Prawns and green mussels were tasty. Everything was nicely seasoned. We were treated with dessert since we were celebrating a birthday. Thanks Kay!!”
“Yummy food and good service. I finished every last bit of my pork belly dish. The mango Thai iced tea was just okay as well as the sticky mango rice - these two items were more for show but not really exceptional. But the coconut soup was delicious. My husband said the crab fried rice was okay.”
