“Had a really lovely experience here! We were able to make a same day reservation for 5 PM. Chef Danny was wonderful and open to accommodating any preferences (swapping out fish, using more/less wasabi, etc.). Everything was delicious, especially the black cod, unagi, and A5 wagyu. The price for all that we got and the quality cannot be beat. This was my first time at Kazumi, and I would go back and recommend to a friend in a heartbeat.”
“Incredible service and omakase! We had Chef Oliver - he was really nice and made our visit super enjoyable. Every course was so delicious! We came with my child and they were friendly and accommodating towards her. Would highly recommend.”
“We had the best night at Kazumi Omakase. My fiance and I went for our anniversary, and they made it feel really special they even gave us a glass of champagne to celebrate, which was such a nice touch. The atmosphere was super calm but still fun, and just felt really good to be in. The food was honestly incredible—every course was so good. Chef Oliver was the star of the meal he was amazing, so kind and clearly really passionate about what he does, which made the whole experience even better. Overall the vibes were just perfect, and the food and service were beyond. We can’t wait to go back next time we’re in NYC. Ps. order the big mac it was INSANE!”
“I’ve been to about 5-6 NYC omakases around this price range and I think Kazumi Omakase is the best one so far. Menu emphasizes the quality and flavor of their fish selections. No need for many toppings or gimmicks, just amazing fish. Standout pieces were akami, truffle Wagyu, Hokkaido uni. We received complimentary sake which was a nice bonus. Crème brulee cheesecake was a nice end to the meal. Ambience was very comforting, it gives off a modern, warm feel that is cozy. Special shout out to chef Wayne, excellent precision and attention to detail, while also being very friendly. 10/10, would come back.”
“Kazumi Omakase offers a good overall experience, especially for the price point, but it doesn’t quite reach the level of the very best omakase in the city. The fish quality is solid and fresh, and a few courses really stand out, with thoughtful seasoning and nicely balanced textures. The chefs are friendly and engaging, and the counter setup makes it easy to watch the preparation and enjoy the flow of the meal. That said,Some pieces don’t hit the same high note as the others, and the pacing lags at times, which slightly breaks the rhythm of the omakase experience. If you go in expecting a good, enjoyable sushi night rather than a top-tier, perfectly polished omakase, Kazumi still feels like a worthwhile visit.”
