Kinjo is a 13-seat omakase restaurant hidden in a beautiful neighborhood bar in one of Dumbo’s oldest factory buildings by the water. OMAKASE: Our chef Johnny (formerly of Masa) delivers 11 finely-prepared courses — a delightful slate of high-quality sushi pieces followed by surprising plates from broader Asia. Currently, our intimate and comfortable omakase counter has three seatings a night: 5:30PM | 7PM | 9PM. Reservations required for omakase. COCKTAIL LOUNGE: Our bar and lounge opens at 5PM nightly and serves both classic and creative cocktails featuring cool spirits we’ve sourced from around the globe. Try a Sour Plum Margarita, a Yuzu Negroni, a flight of whiskeys from across Asia or, of course, sake. Sharing plates are served in the bar; try our tuna toast or snow crab dip. Limited lounge tables available on Resy. For other lounge inquiries, email hello@kinjo.group. PLEASE NOTE: sushi is only available in our omakase. Our omakase starting price is $95/per person. We have a 15 minute grace period - if you are running late, please let us know! And join us at our bar before or after to enjoy a cocktail. Reservations open 28 days in advance. Private dinner or Event inquiries email: hello@kinjo.group.
“Really well curated and tasty omakase in a super nice space for only $95, which all together felt a bargain. Service was great and their sake list was fun. You can have a drink or two (and order à la carte) in the lounge area before or after. And it’s right on the East River, enjoyed a nice walk after.”
“Went for DK's birthday dinner and were able to get a last-minute reservation. All 10 courses were amazing. The fish was buttery, soft and the rice warmed and seasoned perfectly. They accommodated my shellfish allergy with equally complex and beautiful substitutions. I'm still thinking about the blue fin tuna plate. 🤤 The cocktails were also on fire and the bartender shared so many interesting facts about Japanese whiskey.”
“We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Kinjo Omakase. The location in DUMBO is perfect, and the space itself is stunning, modern, refined, and beautifully designed. The bar counter in particular is incredibly elegant and creates such an intimate dining atmosphere. The service was warm and attentive from start to finish. My husband Ben and I especially loved Chef Raiden. He is not only highly skilled, but also incredibly humorous and engaging, which made the entire experience even more memorable. What truly stood out was the rice in the nigiri. The texture and balance were exceptional, perfectly shaped with just the right level of firmness and airiness, allowing it to blend seamlessly with the fish and create a delicate, lingering umami finish. The spring menu was outstanding overall. Every course was thoughtfully crafted, with beautiful presentation and layers of flavor. Both the warm dishes and the nigiri had their own unique highlights, making the progression of the meal exciting and dynamic. This was truly an exceptional omakase experience. We will definitely be back!”
“New favorite omakase. Came for date night and had to come back with friends. Their fall menu did not disappoint. The fish tastes fresh (most from Spain) and melts in your mouth. Faves included the o Toro and gindara. They offer an a la carte menu after the omakase and so glad we tried the wagyu - top notch. They do turn over seating quickly but we didn’t feel rushed. I appreciate quick service - we were in and out in about an hour. They also have a cute lounge space with a bar menu: of note, the duck is worth trying! UPDATE: coming back to report that their winter ‘26 menu doesn’t live up to the precedent of fall ‘25. Most dishes were a miss for me. Glad they kept the o toro and gindara on the menu. Would still give them another try and hope I’ll enjoy the spring menu more (all photos are from fall menu)”
“This place has got vibes for days. Also a great location if you are in NYC and exploring DUMBO and/or traveling by NYC Ferry. The staff were so attentive and we would recommend this place to anyone who values hospitality (that should be EVERYONE). We had the omakase and then moved over to the lounge area. We wanted to order the duck donburi. Turns out it had just left the menu. But the staff were so accommodating and whipped up a version just for us (duck is still on the menu in another form). This was an amazing dish. We cannot recommend this place enough. Please do yourself a favor and pay a visit to Kinjo. We will be back for sure!”
