“My family and I wanted to try a new spot especially for Juneteenth that’s blacked owned so we searched and looked at serval reviews before finally deciding this place. I don’t usually give reviews but this was needed. Our server was Corey and he was beyond phenomenal, very patient, and even helped us out on opinions of varieties of food choices and drinks. I’m so pleased with all of his recommendations b/c it was great. We enjoyed the deluxe platter which was 3 different meat to choose from and 3 sides $65. It’s difficult some times engaged to a cook but to him there was nothing negative to say about the food. The ribs and brisket was soft and very flavorful, yams w/ pecans omggg out of this world, mac and cheese was a good I prefer baked but was still good, the appetizer Mable’s nacho w/ brisket was out of this world, the smoked chicken bbq and buffalo was just that smoked, very tasty and spicy, the homemade ranch sauce that comes with it was wonderful . This experience was very enjoyable and we plan to come back and with more family and friends. I highly recommend this place.”
“The moment you set foot into Mable's Smokehouse & Banquet Hall, you are consumed by that nostalgic deep, earthy scent of burning oak or hickory. It’s so welcoming. On to the food. We ordered the 3 meats and 3 sides platter. For the meats we got the Brisket, the Kielbasa Sausage and the St Louis Ribs. For the sides, we ordered the Baked Beans, Collard Greens and Cornbread. The Brisket was moist and juicy, nice smokiness and a good ratio of meat to fat. The Kielbasa Sausages were one of the better ones we have had, the filling was solid and juicy and the skin was crisp. The St Louis Ribs were falling off the bone smoky, and had a lacquered and smokey sweet-savory glaze that clings to every bite. As for sides, the Collard Greens with bits of bacon was a hit for us. As were the baked beans which had bits of bacon and it was delicious. The Corn Bread was a miss for us. It was a little dry and underwhelming. Service was great albeit for an overzealous “sauce nazi” waiter who kept asking to take away our hot sauce - seriously was there only 1 bottle to share amongst 5 tables.”
“I don't really like barbecue like that but my friend said this place is so good. They did not disappoint! Our server was Jamm and she was very sweet and knowledgeable with all the questions my friend had. We got the deluxe platter. Ribs and brisket were so tender and moist. Can't go wrong with any of the sides! Definitely will be back!”
“We made a reservation through Google for four people and were impressed as soon as we walked in. The atmosphere, menu, weekly specials, and overall vibe were great, and the smell coming from the kitchen instantly made us excited to eat. For drinks, I ordered the Spiked Cherry Limeade. The server asked what vodka I wanted and I went with Tito’s. It was really good, sweet but not too sweet, and nicely balanced with the lime. The rest of the table got the Mint Lemonade which was super refreshing and tasted just as good as it looked. We started with the smoked buffalo wings and they were excellent. You could tell they were smoked for hours because the flavor really went through the meat, and the buffalo sauce glaze was perfect. We ordered the Deluxe Platter with a full slab plus one meat for $79, which came with a full rack of ribs and brisket. The ribs were honestly some of the best I’ve had in Brooklyn. They were tender, flavorful, had a great char, and tasted amazing with the BBQ sauce. The brisket was moist, well seasoned, and more than enough for the four of us. We also added pulled chicken which was delicious. For sides we had mac and cheese, candied yams, and cornbread. I did not even realize the mac and cheese was vegan until later because it was that creamy and flavorful. Overall we were really impressed and would definitely come back. We live in South Brooklyn and it is absolutely worth dealing with traffic to get here. If you are local or even just a train or bus ride away, it is worth checking out.”
“Phenomenal. Best bbq around and I will definitely be back anytime I am in the area. Loved everything but the wings really stood out as exceptional. You have to try the cornbread as well. Great good, great drinks, great service. My family appreciated sinks outside the bathrooms so it was easy to wash hands; Bbq can be messy. I made a reservation but they were not busy. I hope business picks back up for them but I think it was the off season as I was there just after Christmas.”
