For nearly two decades, Marseille has been the essential French brasserie of Broadway & Hell’s Kitchen, its favorite gathering place and its premiere dining destination. The brasserie has long been known as the heartbeat of its neighborhood, and as such Marseilles is beloved by neighbors, theatre goers, performers, tourists, and lovers of joie de vivre of all ages and backgrounds. The neighborhood’s finest, most sexy and elegant brasserie, Marseille features a world class wine list and exceptional French Provencal cuisine for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, pre and post theatre dining, or simply a great glass of wine and some oysters at the bar.
“Our server Henry was the STAR of the show! The food was delicious and the team here super sweet and accommodating. We loved our time here - would def come back again and ask for Henry ⭐️”
“Simple yet nice. We ordered roasted chicken, spring risotto and asparagus soup. There is something about the French cooking, nothing is overly salty or overly flavorful. The taste is just right and very easy on the palate which is what we like best. We did not have a reservation on a weekday evening, and was offered an alfresco seating by the busy NY road.”
“After many years away, I returned to Marseille this weekend and was absolutely delighted to find that it is not only still wonderful, but somehow even better than I remembered. The atmosphere is everything you want from a true French brasserie: lively, elegant, warm, and timeless without feeling pretentious. Despite arriving on a very busy Saturday night without a reservation, we were seated surprisingly promptly even though the restaurant was clearly bustling and full of energy. Our server, Sophie, was fabulous: warm, attentive, polished, and genuinely welcoming throughout the evening. The menu is filled with both beloved French classics and thoughtful surprises. The artichoke appetizer with its accompanying sauce was spectacular, the shrimp beignets were unforgettable, and the seafood spaghetti with chili was genuinely top-notch. We finished with fresh berries and Chantilly cream, which was the perfect lighter ending to a rich and beautiful meal. I was also thrilled to end the evening with one of the most magnificent oat milk lattes I’ve had in a very long time. It was absolute perfection and honestly far beyond what I typically expect from a restaurant coffee service. It felt more like something from a truly artisanal boutique café. What impressed me most is how polished and special the entire experience feels while still offering excellent value for the quality, atmosphere, and hospitality. Whether for an intimate dinner, a celebratory group outing, or simply sitting at the bar and people-watching, Marseille truly delivers. I’m so grateful for such a lovely evening and will absolutely be returning much sooner this time.”
“Marseille and our server, Johnny M, made our breakfast experience in New York before our Broadway show fabulous. Our food and drinks were delicious and Johnny M was the most thoughtful and attentive server ever. And the bartender that Wednesday morning made us the most delicious drinks. Overall, it was a great experience and highly recommend it!”
“We had a nice time in the French restaurant. Food and wine was nice, well prepared. There were some negatives: - ketchup served with fries instead of french mayonaise - fries american style, not so much French/Belgian style - there are various writings on the wall advertising “pression bier” a.k.a. draft beer, but reality is, they have no tap beer All in all we enjoyed the evening and food, but can not rate it 5*”
