New York City quintessential Parisian-style brasserie, Pastis, has arrived in sunny Florida. The critically-acclaimed restaurant that anchored Manhattan’s Meatpacking District for nearly 15 years, brings its signature “je ne sais quoi” vibe to its newest location in Wynwood, one of Miami’s most creative and booming neighborhoods. Transporting guests to the avenues of Paris, the design invokes the spirit of the original. Special touches, including the iconic curved zinc bar, white subway tiles, and signature red banquettes, are showcased throughout the room. Gold-framed, hand-painted mirrors displaying the daily specials adorn the walls. Unique to Miami is a sprawling outdoor garden and courtyard that allows guests to enjoy the beautiful tropical weather from underneath a stunning enclosed pergola wrapped in black locust. Pastis offers crowd favorites such as Onion Soup (delicious even in the heat); Escargots; a selection of Steak Frites; and the perfectly-made Cheeseburger à l’Américaine. New additions to the menu include French regional specialties that bring tastes of the South of France to Florida. Raw bar platters and charcuterie abound. And, bien sûr, what is a night out without bubbles or rose? The list of cocktails, wines, and beer will keep the celebration going all night long.
“Pastis is always a safe bet for any occasion, I’ve been a few times over the past year and I always have a great meal and time. On this opportunity we enjoyed a few appetizers such as the crispy artichokes with the best garlic aioli, the Foie Gras Parfait (words are shot to describe how good it is), the tuna carpaccio (very fresh and tasteful), and the steaming hot escargots (best in town). And for the main course the Skirt Steak Frites, nothing can go wrong when butter and fries come with your steak :)!”
“Pastis Miami delivered an extraordinary dining experience. We went for dinner and every part of the evening felt thoughtful and well executed — from the service to the quality of the food. We enjoyed the grilled branzino, chicken paillard, sardines en conserve, and finished with a beautiful tart au citron. Everything was flavorful, balanced, and perfectly prepared. The atmosphere captures the charm of a classic French bistro while still feeling vibrant and modern. This is definitely a place worth returning to, whether for dinner, drinks, or another occasion at a different time of day. Pastis has quickly become one of those spots in Miami you look forward to visiting again.”
“First time here… found this by chance while looking for a nice birthday brunch in Wynwood. We’ve been to France multiple times in the last few years - from Paris to Provence and in between - and this meal was spectacular. The standout dish was the tuna carpaccio - that lemon vinaigrette with shallots, chives and olive oil was glorious. I had been wanting to try leeks vinaigrette for a while, and these were delicious. Although I’m not an avid foie gras fan, this one was delicious and paired with the fig jam and brioche wedges - perfection. The steak sandwich and onion soup were also amazing, wasn’t a big fan of the crispy artichoke, but it wasn’t bad, per se. This sticky toffee pudding was better than what we’ve had in the UK, just saying. To top it off with the mango drink, was perfect. Our waiter Gianni was also great - his recommendations were on point. Will definitely be returning soon.”
“Fantastic French restaurant in Wynwood, Miami. It had been highly recommended to me by some hard core foodie friends of mine, and went recently to celebrate a friend’s birthday. It was a hit! Every dish was delicious, the flavors delicate yet so tasty, everything cooked just right. I ordered the Chicken Paillard and it was perfectly done, so exquisite. We also ordered the Tuna carpaccio and… Oh, my! My friends ordered Escargot and loved it. The steak and frittes was perfection. For dessert, we had the chocolate mousse. Just delicious! The service was great even though the place was packed. It is pretty pricey, and they do also add the service charge to the bill… I wish Miami restaurants would stop doing that already! Other than that, the place is definitely a gem. The decor and atmosphere transports you to a very romantic place. Love it! Will be back for sure 👍”
“I finally made it to Pastis in Wynwood, and I have to admit I was a bit surprised by how packed the restaurant was. Clearly it’s a very popular spot. However, in my personal opinion, the experience didn’t quite live up to the hype. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has that classic French brasserie aesthetic that Pastis is known for. The atmosphere is lively and polished, and it definitely feels like a place people want to be seen at. Service was good by Miami standards, friendly and attentive enough but nothing particularly memorable. As for the food, I would describe it as average plus, though the price-to-quality ratio feels a bit unfavorable. I tried several dishes: The foie gras parfait was good overall. The texture was smooth and well executed, though I personally prefer a traditional piece of foie gras rather than the parfait style. The fig jam leaned a bit too sweet for my taste, but the dish was still enjoyable. I would give it 4/5. The beet salad was refreshing and nicely presented. I appreciated that the beets were served chilled and the hazelnuts added a pleasant crunch and texture to the dish. That said, it felt like it was missing a touch of acidity to bring everything together, either a sharper vinaigrette or a tangier goat cheese would have elevated it. 4/5. The burger, priced at $28, felt expensive for what it was. The server also didn’t ask how I wanted the patty cooked, and it arrived closer to medium-well. It was decent, but nothing memorable. 3/5. The duck confit was nicely cooked and flavorful. However, the vinaigrette on the accompanying salad leaned sweet rather than sharp, which is unusual for this dish. A more acidic dressing would have balanced the richness of the duck much better. The roasted potatoes also seemed to have rested in the sauce for too long and lost their crispness, they were unfortunately a bit soggy. Something like mashed potatoes might have paired better here. 4/5 overall. To finish, I had the Tarte au Citron, which was light, balanced, and a pleasant way to end the meal. Overall, I’d describe Pastis as a solid but fairly average French dining experience in a very beautiful restaurant, with prices leaning toward the moderate-to-high side. It’s a nice place for the ambiance, but in terms of food, it didn’t fully justify the hype for me.”
