Opened by the late Brian Bui, Mekong BK’s Dekalb Avenue spot is the third home to Mekong BK, which first opened on Prince Street in Manhattan. Serving up homestyle Vietnamese cuisine in a casual-chic space in the heart of tree lined Fort Greene. We shop every morning (like mom does in Vietnam), and use local seasonal produce as the foundation of our menu. Everything from our Crispy Spring rolls, to our Classic Pho are made in house daily with the same recipes our family in Vietnam have been passing down for generations. With rotating craft cocktails at our bar we balance tradition with a "young Spirit". We season with our heart and serve with a smile.
“Nice atmosphere for a place with standard Vietnamese fare. Prices were a bit high, but you're paying for the atmosphere, location, and good food. Pork chops were delicious. I enjoyed the tenderness and charring. The wrapper for the spring rolls had an interesting texture. They reminded me of a Chinese crispy birds nest but more delicate. The team serving us were attentive and efficient.”
“Great Vietnamese spot in Fort Greene! We stopped in for lunch around 2pm on a Sunday and there was plenty of space for walk-ins. It can be busy at night, especially on weekends, so going for lunch was perfect. We ordered the crispy spring rolls, beef pho (which they split in two bowls for us) and the bahn mi sandwich. All were great and we left very full. Service was very quick and just what we needed on a cold afternoon. Excited to come back to try other items!”
“Love this place. There are so many options, and all dishes that we got were delicious and had fairly big portions, reasonable price. I loved the vegetarian fried spring rolls—the filling texture was very meat-like. As well as the iron pot lemongrass curry—the blend of flavors are perfect! My husband also gobbled up his coconut chicken curry. Would highly recommend this place!”
“Had the “chicken in lemongrass curry broth” and it basically had no chicken. The spring rolls were fine but under seasoned.”
“First time here - ordered the beef pho with short rib. Short rib was so tough. Broth is pretty standard pho. For a $30 bowl do not recommend.”
