“Hi. I’m going to pretend to be a famous food critic… and you’re going to pretend to care. My girlfriend and I walked into Mishik on a whim—no reservations, no real plan, just genuinely hungry and looking for something special. From the first minute, the hostess absolutely nailed it. She took the time to explain the menu, walked us through how everything worked, and let us know that if at least one of us chose omakase, we could sit at the chef’s counter. Done. The Atmosphere At first, you get that classic upscale Manhattan energy—alive, polished, buzzing. But then your eyes start adjusting… subtle Japanese touches, thoughtful design, and tucked away in the corner: the omakase station. That’s when you realize… That’s where the magicians work. The Food I went full round-trip omakase… with the sake pairing… obviously. My girl went with the multi-course menu. I honestly don’t know where to begin. The craftsmanship. The knife work. The ingredient quality. The pacing. The presentation. Every course felt intentional. Nothing felt rushed. Nothing felt like filler. You can taste when people actually give a damn. And these people clearly do. Well done. If you’re anywhere near Soho and wondering if this place is worth your time— It’s not. It’s worth rearranging your night for. Thanks for an unforgettable experience. —Max”
“Absolutely loved this place! The sashimi platter was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. Every piece melted in my mouth—especially the tuna and uni, which were rich and full of flavor. The portion size was generous, and you can really tell they use high-quality ingredients. The ambiance was cozy and elegant, perfect for a relaxed night out. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Overall, a great experience and definitely worth the visit :)”
“Consistently one of the best omakase’s I’ve had in NYC. (And I’ve been to a lot!). The quality of fish, rice, and ingredients is top tier. Fish is seasonal, comes from Japan, and sourced by Chef Mark himself. You can tell chef cares about his craft—he even makes his own soy sauce. Incredible value.”
“Really enjoyed this dish! The chirashi bowl was great and everything tasted super fresh. The fish was high quality, the toppings were generous, and all the flavors worked really well together. Every bite was satisfying and felt well balanced. The drink was also refreshing and went perfectly with the meal. Overall, a great experience with good food and nice presentation. Would definitely come back again 😊”
“In love!! The service is exemplary, and the cuisine is exceptionally flavorful. Came here for an evening outing with my friends. We had a 6:45 reservation and arrived slightly early, so we ordered some of their signature cocktails at the bar, which were marvelous. My choice of poison was their Match Old Fashioned; it was not overly infused with matcha, but maintained an impeccable balance! It was a fantastic experience for all of my friends who had the chef's tasting/omakase. Unfortunately, I'm not a sushi person, but they assured me that the rice, fish, and sauce were perfectly prepared. Exceptionally fresh! They had such a wide variety of dishes that even someone like myself who isn’t a fan of sushi could enjoy an outstanding meal. One of the reasons I truly appreciate this establishment. As my friends enjoy their omakase experience, I can relish in the delicious taste of their delicately prepared cooked dishes. Their grilled edamame is highly recommended; it is, without a doubt, the finest edamame I have ever tasted, and I am particularly fond of edamame. For my entrée, I ordered their seabass, and it was truly exceptional—perfectly prepared with an exquisite sauce. I also enjoyed their Wagyu burger, which was amazing. Remarkable richness and a melt-in-your-mouth delicacy! You will immediately recognize that everything is of exceptional quality and carefully crafted to provide an extraordinary experience. Highly recommended for anyone in the area—or even farther afield—because it is well worth making the trip!”
