“Diner at Monte's Trattoria. We stopped by for an early dinner before take our fly to return home. It started out very quiet but quickly became packed with people. The food and drinks are excellent. We tried the beef ravoilis with bolognese sauce, calamary friti, Chicken Parmigian and for dessert we got the italian classic "Tiramisu" the star of the whole diner. Staff was amazing, our waiter Carlos make our diner great. Very traditional NYC restaurant, excelent to shared with friends or family. Highly recommend!”
“Monte’s Trattoria is a true gem that has been in Greenwich Village for many years. The restaurant has a classic, cozy atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re dining at a traditional Italian spot. The pasta was delicious and cooked perfectly. The tiramisu cake was the highlight of the meal. It was so good, creamy, and easily one of the best tiramisus I’ve had. If you’re in Greenwich Village and craving authentic Italian food, this place is definitely worth visiting. One of my favorite.”
“Stumbled upon this place almost by accident and couldn't be happier. You walk in and the feel relaxed old world atmosphere. The special of the evening was pasta stuffed with veal, pork, spinach, and Parmesan cheese in a nice pesto sauce. Had no trouble cleaning my plate. Washed it down with a wonderful Lambrusco wine and finished the night with an amazing tiramisu. Our waiter was wonderful as well and his recommendations were spot on. Can't wait to be back.”
“Really old school below street level setting with nice charm. I ordered classic spaghetti with meatballs. They started out bringing bread and olive oil which I love. The spaghetti was average and portion was on the smaller side. I found the sauce to be a bit too sweet for my palate and I Like my pasta al dente which this wasn't but I Enjoyed my meal and had a great experience. Staff was friendly and accommodating”
“TL;DR- THERE WAS A BUG IN MY FOOD… A truly disgusting experience. There is not much else I can say other than the steaks two of my friends ordered were overcooked and the pork chop my brother ordered was decent, but a little dry. My other friend who also ordered pasta only ate about half of his food due to losing his appetite from the bug ordeal. Our server apologized for the bug in my food (after heavily scrutinizing it) and asked if I wanted the plate to be remade, which I politely declined. He did comp my two drinks, and of course, removed the ravioli from the bill. I understand that things happen, but I would be remiss if I did not warn others of my experience.”
