“Been coming here for a few years and the lasagna always hits. They have a wonderful menu with lots of really incredible food options. The tables in the back are very tiny and I am always concerned with how we will all fit our food and drinks without knocking anything off.”
“La Lanterna di Vittorio was an amazing choice for a Valentine’s Day dinner, and I was highly impressed from the moment we walked in all the way through dessert. The atmosphere is incredibly charming and intimate, especially with the cozy, unique layout that makes it feel like a hidden gem in the West Village. It’s definitely on the smaller side, which adds to the experience, but I highly recommend making reservations ahead of time because it fills up quickly—especially on special occasions. The food was outstanding. You absolutely have to get the lasagna—it was one of the highlights of the night. The portions were very filling, and the flavors were rich, authentic, and clearly made with care. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, and there were so many great options on the menu that it was tough to choose. The tiramisu dessert was also highly recommended by the staff, and they were 100% right. It was the perfect way to end the meal—light, flavorful, and easily one of the better tiramisus I’ve had. The staff was fantastic as well—friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel special without being overbearing. Overall, this place exceeded expectations in every way. I would absolutely recommend it for a date night or special occasion and would gladly come back again.”
“Great Italian spot for good food and drinks. Indoor patio is a nice place to sit and enjoy an outdoor garden without the heat. Rustic old world charm. Main dining room is small but there are more seating options downstairs. Lively atmosphere. Overall enjoyed what we had, except for the tomato and mozz salad. The mozzarella was very sour and off putting. While I understand Buffalo mozz can have a tang it was too strong for my liking. The lasagna flights were spectacular. What a great idea. We shared the veg and meat flights. So 8 in total which was definitely too much for 2 people but so delicious. The variety is great and you can taste the differences in each. They come with a sheet explaining each so you know what you are eating. The fresh pasta was so evident. It was tender but still had a little chew. Definitely rich and filling but so worth it. I cannot recommend this lasagna enough. Absolutely worth a visit to try. The pizzas also looked great. Will be back again.”
“Large menu, delicious pizza, pasta, cheese, etc. Ordered a margarita which was average. Liked the tiramisu. Service was attentive, I think there was a bit of a language barrier. The lasagna is so rich and tasty. We were seated in the back patio which was really cute and a nice setting for a work dinner or really any occasion.”
“UPDATE after 2nd Visit I recently went for lunch with a friend and the food was amazing as usual. Nothing to complain. Only compliments. But I would like to raise a concern about the service. We did not have a nice time with our waiter. He had he some attitude when we needed to add something to our order and even gave us a look that my friend also noticed. And to make things worse, it happened 2 times at the same day… it’s not the one with long hair, he was very nice. It was another guy which was not in a good mood. I just would like to point this out because this is my second visit since I really liked the restaurant, but I hope it doesn’t happen again when I go back for the third time. I believe simple issues and behavior like that are things that turn customers away from a business that has all potential to be excellent. So if the manager or owner is reading this review, please be aware of the people you hire to serve your customers since they are the key to keep your business alive. —————————————————— OLD REVIEW I was truly impressed by how delicious everything was, from the soup to the main course and dessert. The lasagna was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had in my life. It was an incredible and memorable meal. I’m already thinking about coming back soon, and I’ve told several of my Italian friends about this restaurant—they’re now excited to come try it themselves.”
