“Had a great experience with Nome. This place really stands out for its unique take on Nikkei cuisine, blending Japanese technique with Peruvian influences in a fully kosher setting. The concept feels creative, upscale, and thoughtfully executed from start to finish. The food is beautifully presented, the atmosphere is stylish and inviting, and you can tell there’s real attention to detail behind every dish. It’s refreshing to see a kosher restaurant bringing this level of creativity and innovation to the dining experience. The staff are welcoming and professional, and the owner was a pleasure to talk to. If you're looking for a unique kosher sushi and Nikkei dining experience in NYC, this is definitely a place worth visiting”
“There are mixed reviews on Google, so I wanted to give a full review to help people understand what this place is. I think people have been leaving different kinds of reviews because they don’t know what to expect and this place is often different than they expected. Most importantly, we had an incredible experience here. A truly great night out. The food was amazing. The drinks were of the best we’ve had in restaurants. The vibe is super unique, unlike any kosher restaurant we’ve been in. Yes, this small space is a back room in Mocha Burger, separated by a hallway, with its own separate outside entrance. This is usually where people get put off. They feel like the association with a burger place cheapens the restaurant. But it felt like a completely different place, even more elevated than other places. The fact that this room is so small, with only 8 tables I believe, makes it feel like an exclusive space, which is hard to find in the Kosher world. From my understanding, they are only able to create a profitable restaurant of this style by combining the overhead with Mocha Burger. So it’s necessary to be linked, for us to get a really nice experience like Nōmé. Back to the experience. The appetizers were fantastic. The bang bang chicken is the most popular dish there, and rightfully so. The dumplings were perfectly done. We opted for a small ribeye and a burger. The ribeye was cooked perfectly, and the burger was explosively flavored in the best way possible. With all the dishes, the portions are generously sized. For dessert, we got the chocolate chip cookie. We didn’t expect much, but it was incredible. Really. Incredible. Every part of the dessert dish was executed perfectly. Our server was super kind and helpful. She was not too on top of us, but we never had any of those all too familiar “where is our waiter” moments. It’s a hard balance for servers to find, but she did. Pricing: better than any other high end restaurant in the city, with a product that felt just as good (if you know what you’re walking into). The one thing I’d advise to the ownership is: embrace the separation between the two restaurants even more. They could do a better job of making it feel completely separate. Marekting-wise, if the public knew what this was, you wouldn’t have people walking in confused, asking if they’re in the right place and what the difference between the two “restaurants” are. Also, a couple of the serving dishes felt like they were borrowed from Mocha Burger. That can take away from the ambiance. Overall, we had an amazing experience. I hope this place keeps improving and we plan on being back soon.”
“The food was delicious and the service was great. The location now hosts two restaurants with different menus under the same roof: Mocha Burger & Nome. The menu for Nome is a bit on the fancier side. We had steak, Bronzino and banana split. Everything tasted wonderful. I would definitely come back again.”
“This has to be one of the best kosher restaurants I have ever been to. I took two people who normally don't eat kosher food and were concerned that the food would be sub par or there wouldn't be menu items that they would enjoy. To their delight they LOVED the food. We had the chicken l'orange, two starters, dessert and a bottle of prosecco. Dessert was a lemon merengue pie. Absolutely delicious!! The dinner came to about $400, it was worth every penny. The service and the servers were also outstanding.”
“I gave the atmosphere a 4/5 merely because I think they could curate better music. It was covers of hip hop and tropical vibes & the restaurant is a classy candle lit environment with very beautiful set dishes - contrasting. Food is unreal so well set mostly A La Cart menu items. - Mushroom soup is SO tasty, - bang bang chicken is a must have, - beef in bow buns is small but it's SO cozy & good, - and the smoked baby back burden rubs, buttery good. A must go for a kosher restaurant .”
