With the chef's passion and love of cooking OZAKAYA is going to be a fresh dining experience waiting to be discovered and provided you "The finest flavor you can get"
“Donburi set is a must-get. Mentaiko croquette was deliciously creamy, with a bit of a spicy kick. Mentai pasta was a little on the rich side, but the crispy bacon was a great textural contrast”
“What a great find! You know this place is legit - their food presentation. matches all their pictures. You eat with your eyes and mouth here. We ordered the seasonal wagyu kitsumabushi, the kaishin don, the hanabi roll, the mentaiko pasta, and the chawanmushi. We we've ordered the rest of the menu, if we had enough stomach room. Everything was delicious and the service was fantastic.”
“This is not my first visit and it won't be my last. The food here is absolutely delicious I tried items from their new winter menu like the Ozakaya Donburi set (takes me back to Japan), the Wagyu Hitsumabushi, and the Wagyu Hobataki. Absolutely delicious dishes. Had dishes from their staple menu that you absolutely have to get, including the miso black cod, mentai pasta, and oshiruko dessert. Can't recommend this spot enough! “A stunning Japanese spot with high quality fish and well crafted nigiri. We started with a miso black cod and the 10-piece nigiri set, and both were exceptional. The cod was rich and umami-packed, while the nigiri featured generous high-quality cuts and perfect fish-to-rice balance, with highlights like uni, chutoro, hotate, and ikura. The Kaishi Don, loaded with chopped fatty tuna, uni, and ikura, was similarly rich and satisfying. Overall, a super memorable Japanese meal in a modern and snug space. Easily one of the best Japanese options in NYC.”
“The sun was out, cherry blossoms were in full bloom, so we stopped by here after walking around the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, honestly perfect timing and vibes. This place is super popular and I get why. It was packed but the service was insanely quick and efficient, which I appreciated. We shared the chirashi (9/10) and a spicy tuna roll (7/10) and it was honestly more than enough food for both of us. The sashimi is chef’s choice so you’re getting whatever’s freshest that day. Overall, the quality was excellent. A couple of pieces were a little on the flavorless side, but nothing that ruined the experience. I’d still give it a solid 9/10 and would definitely come back if I’m in the area again.”
