Phoenix Palace is a Chinese restaurant in the Chinatown neighborhood of New York.
“We visited there tonight, the aspomosphere was great. Nice food! Especially, the duck breast was super moisture and tender. Tofu was so great too. The server was very kind. It was a great night at the Chinatown!”
“I recommend the egg fried rice and the crab noodles—the fried rice was the favorite at our table and honestly one of the best I’ve had. Super fluffy, fresh, and packed with flavor. The crab noodles were rich and buttery, coated in a delicious sauce that’s savory with a touch of sweetness—it almost eats like an Italian pasta rather than traditional Chinese noodles. Overall, I’d describe this spot as a modern, fusion-style Chinese restaurant rather than strictly authentic. The flavors are great, but approached in a more contemporary, slightly 'Western way'. If you’re into creative takes and a stylish atmosphere—reimagining traditional flavors through a modern lens—it really delivers. It’s also a great date spot. Service was fantastic. Our server, Kim (hope I got her name right!), was so warm, attentive, and genuinely caring in a way that feels rare in NYC. She truly deserves a shoutout. They even brought us a complimentary Youtiao-Chinese fried dough appetizer paired with a super flavorful dipping sauce made with Chinese Wine sausage, and a free mango pudding dessert (so good—fresh mango flavor with just the right level of sweetness), which was such a nice touch. Overall, a great experience!”
“Phoenix Place in Chinatown is a gem. The atmosphere perfectly captures the Cantonese theme with old Chinese movies playing on a jukebox, which sets an amazing vibe. We did their preset tasting menu and were pleasantly surprised by every dish. The mandarin chili wings and duck breast were standouts—crispy, flavorful, and incredibly well-executed. The baby bok choy salad and golden egg fried rice were also delicious. Our server was attentive and patient throughout the meal. Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic Cantonese cuisine. Spicy Ginger Soda is a must have”
“Such great food and service. Smaller menus usually promise quality food and that’s what we got. Came here with a reservation through Chase Sapphire Reserve on a Thursday at 5:30. It was quiet at first then got busier an hour in. But definitely not too loud like other reviews mentioned, but probably because we came on a weekday right at opening. We got the crab noodles, baby bok choy salad, chili wontons, mandarin chili wings, olive yaotiew, and chilled tofu. Didn’t get the hype about the crab noodles, but really enjoyed the wings and wontons. We got the mango coconut dessert, which was comped because we celebrated a birthday which was very kind of the management. The dessert was also very good that we bought another one to share. Federica, our waitress, really made our experience. She’s so sweet and extremely attentive. The employees were all good at cleaning our table throughout. Very impressed by the service. Would definitely come again and recommend”
“I’d like to shoutout my amazing server KIM. Definitely one of the most personable, hospitable, informative, knowledgeable servers I’ve ever had in NYC & I was born here. The food was amazing, so many fun, inventive dishes. The crowd was cool & the playlist was spot on. Thank you Kim & the rest of the amazing staff at Phoenix Palace, I cannot wait to go back with more friends”
