THE ATRIUM restaurant at Public Records showcases expressive plant based cuisine alongside irrerverant bespoke cocktails and small production wines. The space itself, once home to horse stables when the building lived as the ASPCA headquarters in the early 1900s, is framed by 20' monolithic columns and crowned by a historic skylight. 233's history of animal protection inspired the restaurant's vegan principles. The room is outfitted with a custom sound system soundtracking dinner and later evening drinks and dancing.
“This is one of the most “Brooklyn” restaurant/cafes I’ve been to in the borough. As a non-vegan, the food was exceptional and probably had the best cup of coffee I’ve had in a while. The atmosphere is what ties this all together, upon getting seated I realized how well the acoustics sounded topped off with some J Dilla to really set the mood. Me and the wifey are coming back with friends!”
“Stopped by for brunch today. Absolutely delicious and creative food, awesome vibes and very friendly and professional service! Loved every second.”
“The food is amazing! They have a lot of wine and cocktail options. We had dinner downstairs and then went up to the listening lounge. The staff up there were behind rude! They made us switch seats twice telling us the seats were reserved. This was after the host seated us.”
“Had a great night, DJs were great but it seemed like nobody was dancing and just chit chatting all over the dancefloor? Seems like a much younger crowd. (22-25) I guess in Boerum Hill there is no other comparable venue. No hate it was my first time here and I had a wonderful experience with my friends. Thank you ❤️💕”
“This is my third time eating at Public Records, and it’s been consistently disappointing service. Sat right in line with the entrance so the draft was noticeable on a cold rainy night. There was three available two top tables further into the space. It took 15min for our waiter to come over and introduce themselves and offer water. Two tables that were seated after us received water quickly and their orders quicker. The food portions are very small for the price, example: $32 for 5 pieces of gnocchi pasta? All the flavors were good but its tapas size portions for meal pricing. Waiter was not knowledgeable on the menu and could not guide us on suggestions for wine, had to ask the bartender. We ordered additional food and were then told by the hostess that the kitchen was closed. Our waiter came over 5min later to communicate the same information. Seems like there’s a disconnect between communication within the team. I love the space and I love the sound system but I would only come here for events or for the bar, not to sit down and eat.”
