Our intimate, seasonal menu of modern American fare takes cues from Chef Sam Clonts’ time in some of New York City’s best kitchens; reflecting both his appreciation for local ingredients and a global approach. To drink, Raymond Trinh’s beverage team has crafted an eclectic wine list from old and new-world selections that satisfy a variety of tastes, available by the glass or bottle. For something stronger, a cocktail menu rooted in the American classics with modern tweaks celebrates locally produced spirits, infusions and tinctures. Our restaurant offers a 10 seat bar room which also offers 6 coveted counter seats facing inside the kitchen. Our 40 seat dining room offers our full and intimate experience of our concept. All seating options offer the same 7 course tasting menu.
“A Friday night escape was truly made memorable with Sixty Three Clinton and the entire team. Had the pleasure of meeting both chefs, Sam and Ray who show passion not only in their dishes but the way they greet and interact with their patrons. From the moment you step into their place you feel like you’re at home with a wood burning fireplace awaiting you to get comfortable for a home cooked meal. From start to finishing the experience was elevated with each cuisine, friendly wait staff and the ambiance of the restaurant. Our server Simon was fabulous. Each dish was displayed with such passion and decor with flavor profiles that left me guessing what the ingredients of each dish may be. The caviar hand roll is a must try, the sourdough tortilla left a core memory from the time my grandmother made her version of the tortillas and the Muhammara spread was spot on. The Le Boeuf was the savory dish one needs on a cold night like tonight with a perfectly cooked meat over a wood burning oven. The dessert was on a different level where I had to ask for seconds- the cheesecake was delicious and the Choco Taco is a must have in all their menus. I will absolutely be back with my family to enjoy these delicious dishes and experience the wonderful cuisines of Chef Ray and Sam.”
“A top-shelf experience from finish to start. Service was friendly and personal, somehow both low-key and refined at the same time. I was dining alone, which sometimes can feel odd, but the staff made me feel very comfortable and welcome, with just the right balance of friendly, casual interaction and leaving me to enjoy/absorb the dishes. They were incredibly skilled at this, it must be a cultivated vibe, and it’s a good one. The playlist was great -I wasn’t expecting Joy Division and the Cure, but somehow it was perfect. The volume was correct and unlike some places, I could hear all the descriptions easily. The food was wonderful- real food with unexpected flavor profiles, which actually worked and weren’t just for the sake of concept. A nice blend of the familiar with surprise secondary notes that elevated every dish. Someone’s review mentioned that the breakfast taco was salty, and for half a bite I had that same reaction, but there were other flavors that came behind that upfront saltiness which let me know I was in for something smart. I think the hamachi was my favorite, but every dish was really great. Somehow they gave me the best piece of bread I had on my trip to New York, and the best butter. It came dead center in the meal, and it was absolutely perfect, exactly what I needed at that moment. The final dessert was so, so good. I’ll never look at carrot cake the same. The pacing was exactly right, as was the amount of food. I added on everything, but in retrospect might have kept my add-ons to just the hand roll, most of the other dishes were fine without the extras. Really happy I chose this for my last night in NYC.”
“I was at 63 Clinton recently. Let me start by saying the one star is well deserved specially when it gets to food. The food is phenomenal. Like any other place there are ups and downs on the menu but you are in right hands. Food 5 out of 5: I think the magic was on some unusual pairings of flavors and texture. The sauces caught you by surprise at times a very pleasant one. I noticed specially on the white asparagus dish (that hole dish was a surprise). The dips for bread service specially the whipped tofu fall into same category. The main savory was beef and I liked it but I cannot say it was in same category as rest. In an unusual twist for me, maybe my most favorite was Basque Cheesecake (but I do have a sweet tooth). Finally the volume. You will be eating a lot!! I made the mistake of too much bread and on the huge final dessert I couldn't properly enjoy it. I was just too full. Service and Atmosphere 4/5 are also great but I think the food is the highlight. One suggestion: the sauces on the dishes are very elaborate and the explanation on them was so fast that I usually had to ask for repeats or just gave up and tried. It felt the explanation were a tad rushed. All in all, great food, and lovely atmosphere and staff. Finally kudos to bar staff. Very very friendly. I loved the place and food and will be back.”
“Decent tasting menu that cherry-picks from many different cuisines. I can’t say anything wowed me, but it was about what you’d expect from a $130 tasting menu. The NA beverage pairing program was kind of a miss though. A couple of the choices were alright, but some of the house brewed options were way too sweet.”
“The service was decent and all the workers were nice! We enjoyed both of the mocktails - the blood orange especially was refreshing. With that said, the food was honestly pretty terrible and probably the worst we’ve ever had at a Michelin starred restaurant. Not sure if we came during a weird menu change or what. As we were finishing up the dessert, my husband was literally looking up past menus and photos to see what was served in the past, because we felt like we were being pranked. The asparagus dish and the breakfast taco were the best. The pate was inedible and so dry. Also our entire group left at least half of the finely dessert taco untouched. I love dessert and still only finished half of mine!!”
