Swagat is a small and cozy Indian restaurant on the Upper West Side channeling the roadside restaurants of North India. Crafted by Abishek Sharma, the kitchen's menu focuses on chaats and items from the tandoor oven.
“I had an amazing experience at Swagat! The food was absolutely delicious, and everything was fresh and full of flavor. A special thank you to Isha, who provided outstanding service throughout my visit. She was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Excellent food, excellent service, and a great atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you, Isha!”
“It was incredible. What a neighborhood hidden gem! I ordered the vegetarian prix fixe which is a total deal and amazing! I also started by ordering Chicken Tikka Masala but when I saw the order for the gentleman next to me arrive, I immediately changed it to his order and then the people next to me inquired about it as well. It is Chicken Achariya Tikka Kebab. It was PHENOMENAL! I would go here over and over! I will definitely be going to Madam Ji next which is closer to me in Chelsea.”
“Good High Protein meal. Chicken, Lamb, Beef, Salmon. Felt a little pricey but meat is more expensive nowadays. So it is what it is. There were cheaper options but this was the highest protein option. Haha”
“Always outstanding service and willing to get my Tika masala just the right level of spicy for me. Not a beer fan but their 1947 and Taj Mahal are both super. We eat here about 4x a year and have never had a bad meal. They were even kind enough to divide our shared ice cream in three for us. Also, the portions are deceptive. Usually we end up bringing some home but if you are really hungry you might be able we to finish everything. Dishes come with rice but we always order 1-2 orders if regular or garlic naan. It's a small place but I've made reservations for 8 before. They are very accommodating.”
“The food was excellent, came out quickly, and everything was so flavorful. The servers were incredibly nice and accommodating, making the whole experience even better. It’s also a great place for big groups — highly recommend! Gluten free options too.”
